Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CS5 Name of Challenge: Use a ScrapSimple Digital Layout Template.
Directions for one technique I did on this layout: For this layout, I used ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates: Curled Paper by Syndee Nuckles, selecting a template that featured a blended larger photo. However, the photos were portrait orientation (vertical), so I needed to rotate the photos and mask. I moved the text box and resized it to fit the new location. Most shadowing is included, so all I needed to do after merging was to add shadows to the framed photos. So quick and easy!
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 Name of Challenge: Use a ScrapSimple Digital Layout Template.
Directions for one technique I did on this layout: To remove a yellowish color cast on my photo using Photoshop Elements 6, I clicked on Enhance> Adjust Color> Adjust Color for Skin Tone. Following the directions in the new inset window, I clicked on one person's skin in the photo and watched the overall color cast of the photo change. I didn't like the first result, so I hit Reset, and then kept clicking on different patches of skin until I was satisfied. Alternatively, I could have moved the sliders at the bottom of the inset window to adjust the skin's tan and blush as well as the ambient light's temperature (from blue light to red light). When I found the setting I liked best, I clicked "OK," and the photo changed to the new color cast. If your photo contains people, this method adjusts the color quickly and easily.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for photo editing; GIMP for layout design Name of Challenge: Use a ScrapSimple Digital Layout Template.
Directions for one technique I did on this layout: I started with a two-photo template from ScrapSimple Digital Layout Album Templates: 12x12 Album Series 14 Mini. I really wanted to make the octagon with my animal embellishments stand out from the other octagons in the grouping. In order to do this, I added a stroke on its own layer around each embellished octagon. Then holding down the Alt key, I resized the stroke so that it was just on the inside, acting like an edging or border. To add to the unity of the layout, I used the same technique on the inside yellow paper layer.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Name of Challenge: Use a ScrapSimple Digital Layout Template.
