Where does your inspiration come from?
This is a difficult question to pin down. For me, inspiration comes from everywhere. My grandchildren and family definitely inspire collections, while music, food, old photos and albums from our family, patterns found in clothing and furniture, nature (particularly flower gardens and the woods around our home), sometimes even an advertisement on TV will spark an idea.
What’s your favorite kit and why?
Are you a neat freak or a messy?
I am definitely a neat freak! Messy house, messy mind. I can be a very A-B-C-1-2-3 person. It’s very difficult for me to function in the midst of chaos. I need a plan, and things need to be in order.
Describe yourself three words:
Quiet: I’m not a loud person at all, unless you go after anyone I love. Then, I can become a roaring, protective mama!
Content: I have the love of my husband and family, a warm place to lay my head, a favorite chair for coffee and a good book…and my craft room. Who wouldn’t be content!
Creative: This is where my “artsy” side comes out and it’s truly about the only time I let myself go and just explore and actually get a little messy. I don’t mind getting ink and paint under my nails and gesso on my nose if it means I discover something new.
What’s the favorite part of your day?
Definitely early morning, usually around 5:00 a.m., the quiet time when I’m alone with my thoughts and a good cup of coffee and the rest of the house is still asleep.
What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
Chicken Noodle Soup over mashed potatoes. I grew up with this as a regular meal as a child. I never thought it was a weird food combination until I served it to my husband for the first time. He looked at me with the strangest face and had no idea why mashed potatoes were on the table! It still makes me laugh. But now that he has tried it, he likes it, too. It is definitely a go-to meal for the winter in our house.
