Each month we get a glimpse behind the scenes of our Scrap Girls Club designers, and this month’s designer is Angie Briggs! And a special treat – Angie has shared with us the Spotify playlist she listened to while creating this club!

1. When you started working on the club, what was the first thing you did?
When I first start working on a club, and almost any digital scrapbooking kit, I always start in the same order:
Color
Name
Floral Paper
I will sometimes spend up to a week on getting just the right colors and name. And then alot of times I will spend almost another week, working on the floral papers. I’m very picky when it comes to them and until they are “just right” I can’t move on.
2. What inspired the colors in your club?
Wildflower and living out in the country.
3. Where did you find the inspiration for this club?
Inspiration came from a book I just finished reading Wanted by Kelly Elliott. It’s a very light, fun read all about falling in love with the cowboy of your dream and living the country life. Being a country girl at heart, I quickly fell in love with the book. After I finished reading it I started working on my club so I went to Pinterest and started capturing different ideas. From there the look and feel of the club formed.
While I was designing it, I would listen to Spotify to help me keep in the “mood”. I even created my own playlist just for this club:
Falling4You
I have listed to that list over and over.
4. The club includes several products. Did you start and complete each one before moving on to the next?
Yes, I always start with my papers. I will do all the papers for the whole club. After I finish that I will do the word art/alphas and finally the embellishments.
5. What was your favorite thing to design?
I love clusters, so I would have to say the Embellishment Mini. I love combining different items to create them, and I love even more how you can quickly add them to a digital layout for a fast finishing touch.
6. If you could pick one word to describe your club, what would it be?
How about “countryrusticshabby” if you say it really slow it sounds more like country, rustic, shabby…but since you woul only allow me one word I had to run it all together.
7. About how long did it take you to design this club?
I started working on the colors and theme right before Christmas, once I got that I took a little break. Then picked it back up the first part of January, and it took about a month to finish.
8. How did you come up with the name of your club?
As I was designing one day and siging along with my spotify list, I only do that when i’m home alone with my dogs (who will usually even head to the other end of the house) one of the lyrics to a song was “falling for you” And it hit me that this was the perfect name for my kit.
Even though the main theme behind my club kit this month was country, shabby I think you will find that the colors and embellishments included will work with just about any layout that you might be working on.
I hope you enjoy this months club as much as I enjoyed creating it!
When you design do you normally use a large color pallet? I love this collection.
Thank you for sharing the process–very interesting!
Tasanee, if you look at it it’s really not that large of a color palette, there’s only 6 colors and for this large of a project is not alot. But for me, I will also choose the shades of my base color when I start out. It just helps me visualize what it’s all going to look like when it’s done.
Thanks so much for answering my question!
