Designer Spotlight – Angie Briggs

designer spotlight, AFT Design, Amanda Fraijo-Tobin

Flip the switch, it’s time to shine our Designer Spotlight on another Scrap Girls designer! This month, we’re sitting down with our owner/designer extraordinaire Angie Briggs as she gives us the inside scoop on what makes her designer heart tick! Plus, she tagged 10 of her favorite products for the Designer Spotlight 40% Off Sale — so pop over to Angie’s store until 10/10 and load up your cart with her fave creations.

Angie Briggs

How long have you been designing and how did you get into it?

Oh my gosh, it seems like forever! I started designing freebies back when the boys were about two years old. I did that for about a year, then I started at Scrap Girls as a layout designer. Within the year, I started designing products in January 2006.

What’s your favorite part of the day?

I’m a morning person, up about 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. on most days. I get together with a friend about 5:00 and walk for an hour, then I start working.

PC vs. Mac?

I’m a PC, but man, how I drool over the Macs! Maybe someday I’ll switch over.

Neat Freak vs. Messy?

For sure, I’m a neat freak, but I’m the only one in my house who is. I spend my days picking up after everyone (and probably driving them crazy by doing so!).

What’s on your desk?

About five External Hard Drives (EHDs) — (Yes, I have back-ups of back-ups of back-ups!). I also have a folder full of notes, a printed calendar that I live off of, a notebook and sticky notes for notewriting, a cup of pens, a charger for my phone, a cup of water, and a little bowl that Colby made about six years ago that holds paper clips.

Where do you call home?

I was born and raised in Lawson, Missouri, a little town north of Kansas City. After graduation, I spent a couple of years in Springfield, Missouri, then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, for three years for work. I was transferred to Lincoln, Nebraska, then Wichita, Kansas. After that, I moved to California and got married. We became parents to our twin boys and moved back to Lawson when they were a year old.

Loved reading this. I already have a bunch of Angie’s designs but I see a couple more I am going to add to my cart.
