In Laura’s new kit, you’ll find traditional nautical items like anchors and helms, plus whimsical items like rope-trimmed flowers and banner flags. Many of the embellishments can be pulled apart and used in pieces. Laura explains:
“The rope flower doesn’t need to be used with the solid flower portion – it would look cute if used with just the rope layers. Then the rope brushes could tie in to create an interesting cluster or border.”

Fun Fact: Laura attributes the musical inspiration for this club to Bobby Darin’s famous hit, “Beyond the Sea,” and while she worked, the song constantly floated through her head. “I kept thinking of the song, hoping that my kit would work well for all things nautical, but also for layouts that go ‘beyond the sea’!”

We asked Laura what types of projects her club products would work well for. Here’s what she had to say:
“Front and center in my mind was using this club to scrapbook all my photos of the lighthouses I’ve visited. Plus, I liked the idea of capturing a “beacon of hope” or “guiding light” type of image, along with the concept of using waves to scrap the ebb and flow our our lives. “

Laura’s goal is to introduce a seldom-used command and help you add it to your knowledge base. “It’s capable of a great deal once you become comfortable with it!”
Tutorial 2: Using MasksUse masks to color and modify just a portion of your products. “I often hear that masks can be intimidating (and I once suffered from that intimidation as well!), but once you start working with them, you’ll see that they are really very simple and can actually be a lot of fun to use!”
Bring home the June ScrapSimple Club, find the song on YouTube, then sit back and scrap some memories “Beyond the Sea!”
