When I started my weight loss journey a little over a year ago, motivation was one thing that I, like many others, struggled with. Especially with being a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, it was very easy to stay in my pajamas all day and just work, while in the back of my mind I was thinking, “I’ll work out later.”
I had to find a way to stay motivated and remind myself that I was doing this for me. About that time, my love for Pinterest came along and the many things you could find on there, including motivational quotes.
I decided that I was going to create my own little framed quote that I could put on my desk and change out very quickly. My hope was that by keeping the quotes fresh, I would stay motivated, and I have to say so far, it’s worked!
Here’s how I made my motivational sign. I opened up Photoshop and started a new 5×7-inch document. I found the quote I wanted to use and pulled in the papers and embellishments. For this sign, I used items from the Fitness Collection Biggie and A New Me Collection. How you design your sign and what you use is really up to you. I chose to make mine very simple because I wanted that quote to be the first thing I saw every day.
Once I was done, I cut it out, added it to my frame, and put it on my desk, since that’s where I spend most of my time when I’m home during the day. You can put yours anywhere! If you print it out on heavy cardstock, you can put it on your refrigerator, bathroom mirror, or even tape it to your car’s dashboard to remind yourself to stop by the gym on your way home.
My favorite thing about this is that the cost of the item is very low, and it’s so quick and easy to put together. You can change it weekly with a new quote or even feature your goal for the week.
