You Could Be a Scrap for Hire Artist!

You could be a scrap for hire artist

Have you ever thought about becoming a Scrap for Hire (S4H) digital artist, but you don’t know how to get started? Basically, S4H is someone who delivers creative and timeless digital art and gets paid doing it. So, if you are a digital scrapbook enthusiast, you can be a S4H artist!

I love taking people’s photos and stories and turning them into treasured albums. My digital art business is my passion. I love working with families to customize layouts that capture the distinctive style and mood they want to convey. I strive to select the right colors and designs to complement the photos and stories. The huge selection of high quality supplies at Scrap Girls allows me to do just that.

The new Scrap for Hire/Scrap for Others/Craft Use License section of the Boutique was introduced earlier this year. It has been a game-changer for small S4H business owners. Before these changes, I had to purchase a Commercial Use license, and the product supply was limited and expensive. I spent hours creating my own embellishments and backgrounds in order to get the colors and designs I needed. Needless to say, my business was not profitable.

Now all I do is shop in the Scrap Girls Boutique for high-quality finished products like kits, clusters, templates, and embellishments. The wonderful selection of S4H finished products is only 25% more than the regular personal use supplies. My business is booming, and my customers are amazed at the speed and quality of the finished products.

I get a lot of requests for birthday/shower invitations and Christmas greeting cards. Using the S4H/S4O/Craft License card templates and kits, I can quickly create layouts that exceed my clients’ expectations. Here are two examples where I used the ScrapSimple Card Templates: 5×7 Holiday as a starting point and completed the cards using value packs and kits.

The Merry Christmas card includes a cluster from a value pack. Clusters are the easiest way for a S4H artist to create interest and add lots of design to a project.

Even though I started with a holiday card template, I used the template to design a bridal shower tea party invitation.

The best part is that Scrap for Hire artists can sell each finished design up to 500 times. There are a couple of ways you can do this. You can offer your S4H services and insert the client’s photos and provide a flattened JPG image. Or you can sell the finished flattened JPG template with a blank photo mask so that the purchaser can add their own photo and journaling.

There are lots of money-making possibilities using the S4H/S4O/Craft license. If you are already a S4H artist, we’d love for you to share your work in the Scrap Girls Gallery.
