In the midst of a family campout, designer Melissa Renfro began stitching the leaves and flowers that would become part of her brand new ScrapSimple Club: Simply Handmade: “I could just imagine these pieces working well to capture beautiful scenes in nature or of families together. And while I always love fall (and love designing for fall), these products can be colored in any configuration so they will be useful in any season.”

FUN FACT: “When I was about 10 years old, my mom taught me how to embroider. I haven’t done a lot since, but every once in a while, I try something new. While I was working on the elements for this club, we were on a family campout. I sat by the fire under the pine trees and stitched out the flowers and accents. To be honest, it was hard to keep that white fabric clean around the campfire!”

Melissa knows you’ll love this one: “I think club members will really love using the embroidered embellishments as simple additions to a cluster of flowers or a bit of stitching to anchor a photo. They can be as simple or as elaborate as you want! Non-floral elements (like the messy borders and the messy stitches) can be used in any layout, even with masculine themes.”
