Autumn is my favorite time of the year living in Michigan. The leaves on the trees turn from green to beautiful shades of gold, red, pumpkin, and khaki. This month’s Scrap Girls Club: Harvest Spice captures the brilliant hues of fall. The Harvest Spice Collection has everything I love to create clusters with – flowers, leaves, ribbons, and buttons. I’ll show you how fast and easy it is to create a leaf wreath decoration using the kit.
I used the red, green, and yellow leaves from the kit. I started by stamping the center of the image with a hard round brush and then enlarged the circle to the size I wanted. Then all I did was was layer the leaves as shown below.

Next, I moved the layers around in the Layers panel, so that some of the yellow leaves were on the bottom and middle layers, green leaves were on top and bottom, red leaves were in middle, etc. I added a shadow to one of the leaf layers, then right-clicked the layer and selected Copy Layer Style. Next, I select all of the leaf layers and right-clicked and selected Paste Layer Style to quickly add shadows to all of the leaf layers.

Now for the fun part! I clipped in a colored paper into the black circle and added word art in the center. I embellished the center of the wreath with flowers and buttons.
I saved the wreath as a PNG file so I could place it on greeting cards, like the sample below.

In the sample below I created a page by adding a 12×12″ background. How perfect this would be as a placemat or wall art!

Give this easy method a try and show us what you create! Upload your wreath masterpieces to the
Scrap Girls Gallery and let us enjoy the beauty of the season!
