Do you find yourself short on time or lacking inspiration when you sit down to do a layout? Do you have several sets of ScrapSimple Digital Layout and Album Templates, but you want to be a bit more creative? Then I have the solution for you! Combining digital layout templates together will give you an endless supply of creative options.
When you start playing with elements and pieces of layout templates, the design possibilities never end! I get excited just thinking about it! That’s one of the things I love about our ScrapSimple line of products: They can all be mixed and matched together, with no rules, no fuss, just great design!
Okay, let’s mix and match!
Layout #1:
First, I opened up two Digital Layout Template PSD files.
Next, I dragged the photo mask layer from the first template over on top of the rounded paper template on the second template. I clipped them together by going up to my Layer menu and scrolling down to select Create Clipping Mask.
Then I made a selection of the rounded paper template. Next, I selected my photo mask layer and hit Delete. Then I selected the original rounded paper template in my Layers Palette and clicked on the Eye icon to hide it. We won’t need it.
Now the fun begins! Continue layering the template pieces with papers and add drop shadows to add realism.
Next, add embellishments, word art, and journaling. Notice that I also used the swirls from the first template to add even more pizazz!
Layout #2:
For the second layout, I opened up two different layout template files.
I used the frames from the second template, and the swirls, leaves, and flowers from the first.
Next, I layered the template pieces with papers and added word art. I love how this layout turned out! It was so easy, and you can come up with so many different variations. It’s so much fun!
Don’t stop at Combining Digital Layout Templates. Pull out your embellishment, word art, and alpha templates, too! I hope this inspires you to mix and match all your ScrapSimple Templates!
