1. When you started working on the club, what was the first thing you did?
The first thing I did is grab my camera and went out to some of my favorite places for inspiration. Then I started jotting down ideas for the collection. I wanted it to be cohesive but also versatile enough to work with a wide range of photos and styles. I knew I wanted a whimsical feel for spring but I also thought it would be nice to have some pieces that would bring a touch of elegance to heritage and other kinds of layouts.
2. What inspired the colors in your club?
I decided on a soft color palette for Spring and Easter but instead of traditional pastels I wanted to go with these more vintage muted tones. I’ve always been drawn to these hues and thought this palette was perfect for the season.
3. Where did you find the inspiration for this club?
When I was out and about taking pictures I went to my favorite store, Anthropologie. There was tons of pattern mixing with ditsy florals, stripes, checks, etc…throughout the store. It all looked so fresh and playful and I knew that was the direction I wanted to go in.
Pinterest is another go to spot for me to get inspired. I made this inspiration board with some of the gorgeous images I found there. I love accents of burlap, lace, eyelet and crochet and decided to add touches into the club for a more homey vintage feel.

4. The club includes several products. Did you start and complete each one before moving on to the next?
Yeah, I started with papers. It set the tone for the rest of the club. From there I worked on the embellishments and then finished up with the word art/alpha. And while I was doing all that I was waiting and hoping to be inspired with the name.
5. What was your favorite thing to design?
I had tons of fun creating all of it but I’d have to say all the papers. They take the longest but I love the creative process of building them, adding layers of texture and patterns. Plus there is usually not too much extracting involved. LOL!
If I could pick a second it would be the burlap and crochet alpha.
6. If you could pick one word to describe your club, what would it be?
So many adjectives I want to use, versatile, playful, shabby, springy, but I’m going to go with something with a little more pizazz…… Whimsilicious. Is that cheating?! LOL
7. About how long did it take you to design this club?
It took me a little over 2 months from start to finish. A big chunk of my time was spent on the hunt for and extraction of the vintage crochet doilies, trims and antique lace ribbon. Other labors of love include the patchwork handcrafted-looking flowers, embroidered and patchwork butterflies, burlap and crochet lace trim elements and the handmade fabric flowers, just to name a few. I had such a blast creating each and every element that time just flew by.
8. How did you come up with the name of your club?
I wish I had a great story for this. Pretty much, after weeks of waiting for inspiration, Spring Whimsy popped in my head and I thought it perfectly described the club.
I hope you enjoy this club as much as I enjoyed creating it!
