When you started working on your club, what was the first thing you did?
I took photos of things that inspired me, surfed the web for ideas and organized those images in folders in my computer.
What inspired the colors in your club?
Although the templates in the club can be colored to your liking, I envisioned these to be recolored using bright summer hues such as blue, aqua, orange, yellow and lime. Just looking around the house also provided me with plenty of color inspiration. Having young children, I am surrounded by bright, happy, summery-colored toys and clothes.
Where did you find the inspiration for this club?
Having a ton of pool and beach photos to scrap was a great incentive to create a summer-themed club.’
The club includes several products. Did you start and complete each one before moving on to the next?
No. I go back and forth between products to make sure they coordinate with each other.
What was your favorite thing to design?
Definitely the embellishments! I made 15 embellishment templates for the SSEmb: Summer Essentials set and I found it hard to stop myself from making more. These were fun to make!
About how long did it take you to design this club?
Being a slow designer, keeping home, having PTA commitments as well as helping my husband with his new business, I have to start early doing projects such as the SS Club. I started working on the club over the summer (in Manila, Summer is March-May) and finished when the first wave of typhoons ushering in the monsoon arrived in the beginning of June.
