Wishing for a Wish List?
EverNote is a wish list and MORE!
Wishing for a wish list? Here's the ticket for the perfect* one... and it does so much, much more!
(Otherwise known as, "Oh my words! My cluttered-up life has just been saved!")
Download and install the free version of EverNote1.1. If you have a Wacom Tablet and like to write yourself notes, you will want to get the purchased version as it has handwriting recognition in it and you can file your handwritten notes that way. (I know that as soon as I get my Wacom, I will be upgrading to the purchased version myself right away.)
Once you have it installed, you have the ability to create categories to file your notes under. To access the items in those notes, you just click on the categories and you can see them.
To create a Scrap Girls Wish List under the shopping category, create a new Keyword Category name called, "Scrap Girls Wish List". (How to do it: Right-click on Shopping List> New Category in "Shopping List".)
Go to the Scrap Girls Boutique and put what you like in your shopping cart.
Highlight your basket and then click on the "Add to Evernote" icon that is up in your browser icon list. The EverNote icon is installed automatically in your browser when EverNote is installed on your computer. (Note: It doesn't work with all browsers, but it works with Internet Explorer and FireFox. They also have a plug-in for Thunderbird.)
You will instantly see that your shopping basket has now been added to EverNote. Notice that all of the links, the graphics, and the prices are there, too. Whenever you are ready to look at the items again (or purchase them!), you can just Ctrl+Click on the links and your browser will open to the page in the Boutique where the item is located.
You can also bring the items into EverNote, one at a time. Just find the item that you like, Copy it, click on the "Add to EverNote" icon, and you will have everything you need right in EverNote, along with the link back to the source of your note.
You can even type in a note to yourself about the item you have just created so that you can remember what you were thinking at the time. For instance, when I brought this mini-book item into EverNote I typed, "This would make a great mini-book for Mom" under the entry.
Now you don't ever have to forget about any of the awesome Scrap Girls products you see again. Just EverNote them!
*So sorry, my dear Mac friends, but right now, EverNote is only available for PC. Instead, check out this great Mac-Friendly option in Kaboodle!
