Scrap Girls SS Club Exclusive: Vintage Ephemera

tt
This month’s ScrapSimple Club from designer Emily Abramson celebrates all things old and wonderful! Emily loves old paper and vintage elements “because they add so much personality and nostalgia to any layout. I think this month’s ScrapSimple Club has elements that are perfect for art journaling types of memory-keeping due to their vintage and shabby nature.”

Fun Fact: Emily’s Brush Set: Vintage Ephemera contains extracted text from an 1886 Edinburgh newspaper called The Scotsman. “I purchased this vintage newspaper, which was massive, but a bit old and smelly. Rather than use it in my physical mixed media, I decided to scan it to use digitally. I am so happy I did!”

If you’re a fan of Emily’s designs over the years, then you know that vintage ephemera shows up in her collections frequently. “Vintage ephemera is my favorite type to collect,” Emily explains. “Ephemera by definition means items of collectible memorabilia, typically written or printed ones, that were originally expected to have only short-term usefulness or popularity. The club name was simply a natural choice because all the pieces reflect my love for vintage items.”
