Meet Scrap Girls Hybrid Creative Team!

Bobbi’s first exposure to scrapbooking was many years ago at a home party. Looking back, she says, “That night was the start of a passion that has grown ever since!”
Not content with the limited products available, she immediately began shopping craft stores, only to find a severe shortage of what she was looking for. Realizing this shortage led to the first scrapbook store in Maine. That store grew into three stores, and for more than a decade, those stores were her life.
Her biggest love is creating albums and other projects from scratch. Three years ago, the discovery of Scrap Girls opened a whole new avenue of creativity and provided a way to incorporate hybrid techniques into her work. She works with a Mac and Photoshop CS5 and loves to “play on the computer,” but can’t give up working with dimensional products.
Bobbi cherishes her grown son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Her very fat, loving cat shares her daily life and makes her laugh. She currently works at a print shop she has co-owned since 1988. While she has fought breast cancer for most of 2012, she is looking forward to being a survivor in 2013!
Bobbi is excited and honored to be a Hybrid Team contributor within the extremely talented and supportive Scrap Girls community.

Carla’s hobbies include reading, sports, crafts and photography. She discovered digital scrapbooking in 2004. Carla is now addicted to digital scrapbooking and has discovered that she can combine her love of crafts with her digital obsession and create Hybrid Crafts!
Scrap Girls is her second home. It’s the only online community she has ever actively participated in and she loves it. Carla looks forward to helping Scrap Girls discover how easy it is to combine a love of all things digital with glue, glitter and paper!

I am a stay-at-home mama to her two little girls, 4 years and 20 months. When I am not chasing them or hanging out with my hubby in the Arizona desert, I love to play with paper and my computer – as an avid video gamer. When I was introduced to hybrid scrapbooking in 2013, it was like a dream come true for me. I had found a way to combine my technology addiction with my paper addiction. I love using digital elements to add to my paper layouts in ways that I simply could not do with paper/physical products alone. I look forward to sharing ways to bring the digital scrapbooking world and the physical scrapbooking world together to create projects you will cherish!

My artistic career has been varied. In my 30′s I was a professional stained glass artist…culminating in my achieving a 1st Place professional flat award in the Stained Glass International 1985 competition in Chicago.
I LOVE and make Art Dolls. I am a cover artist for the “Art Doll Quarterly” magazine, Summer of 2006 edition … Somerset Studio.
I am a hobby photographer. One of my photos was featured in the the 1st edition of Somerset Studio’s magazines “Life Images” winter edition, 2008. ( on page 74)
My Art Journaling “high” is on page 124 in the “Art Journaling” magazine by Somerset Studio, winter 2009 edition.
Everything was made possible by my LOVE of keeping an Art Journal!

Karen attributes her love of art and design to living a vagabond life. Karen began scrapbooking and paper crafting with traditional supplies. Over time she realized that she loved creating small mixed media cards and journals. She loves to repurpose old book pages and other found items in her projects.
In 2008 a friend suggested that she take a look at the Scrap Girls web site. Karen loved that she could layer without worrying about bulky pages, that she could blend her photos and that digital layouts could be easily changed. SG staff, members and classes helped her to gain confidence in this new medium.
Karen loves to use her Scrap Girl supplies to create hybrid projects. With digital she is not limited by the art supplies she has in her tiny studio. There is such a talented group of staff and members at SGs and she is so grateful to be part of the team. The art work found at SGs inspires her to live creatively every day!

Lei always had a love for crafting. Learning to knit at age 9 she developed a love for fiber arts and has since learned to spin and dabbled in quilts. She has also taught tole- painting (folkart) at a community college and loves to grow flowers to make natural wreaths.
Lei was never a paper scrapper. In the fall of 2007, in her quest of “what to do with my digital photos, a Google search brought her to ScrapGirls where she fell madly in love with a whole new world of art she never realized existed and has ever since been enjoying learning many new things. The use of digital products to make hybrid ATC’s, greeting cards, mini-albums, and various other craft projects has even satisfied her tactile crafting needs.

Sherry enjoys cooking, baking, playing her bass guitar and singing and taking photos of “the boys” and nature when they go on their hikes. Sherry started digital scrapping in 2007 when she discovered Scrap Girls. She has dabbled in hybrid for approximately 3 years, but this past year decided to kick it up a notch and expand her repertoire from just cards. Some of the projects that she has completed so far include mini albums, gift boxes, tags and gift card sets!

In the past, Theresa has had various hobbies, including crocheting, knitting, counted cross stitch, quilting, paper quilling, jewelry making, as well as working with polymer clay, and decorative painting. She loves art forms of all types and likes to read and she loves learning digital photography. She likes to practice her photography skills by taking photos of the many varieties of flowers which bloom in her yard each year. In addition to flowers, she loves to take pictures of other nature subjects such as animals and landscapes.
Theresa loves to learn digital scrapbooking techniques and has taken many of the classes offered at Scrap Girls. She also has a passion for helping others to learn.
Theresa is happy to be a member of the Scrap Girls Welcoming Committee and hopes to be able to help others to enjoy this wonderful place as much as she does.
We hope you will join us for many hybrid adventures! Make sure to bookmark the Scrap Girls Hybrid Gallery!
