Making an Altered Mint Tin with Digital Scrapbook Printables
Items needed for this project:
- Mint tin
- ScrapSimple Craft Templates: Mint Tin 2
- Digital papers, embellishments, and tools from various Scrap Girls products
- Hybrid ribbon, flower, eyelet, word art, etc. as desired
- Scissors
- Sandpaper
- Acrylic paint/paintbrush
- Glue runner
- Mod Podge sealer (optional)
Using ScrapSimple Craft Templates: Mint Tin 2 as a guide, create your album pages, mint tin top cover, inside covers, and bottom covers in your digital scrapbooking software. When you are finished creating your album, use the included printing guide included to help you get a perfect alignment for your printed album pages.
Prepare your mint tin to be altered by sanding it, then painting it with the acrylic paint color of your choice. While the paint is drying, cut out your printed covers. Once the paint is dry, adhere the printed top cover, inside covers, and bottom covers using your glue runner.
At this point, you may choose to seal your covers using Mod Podge adhesive. After sealing, you may also add any additional details you'd like, such as letter stickers, dimensional flowers, ribbons, or word art.
Cut out and accordian-fold your printed album pages. Add any hybrid details you'd like, such as a ribbon closure. Place the completed album in your finished, altered mint tin.
