Using Color Swatches to Color ScrapSimple Templates PSE 11+

Modifications to Using Color Swatches to Color ScrapSimple Templates  for Photoshop Elements 11.

You can add a custom color swatch in Elements 11 pretty much the same way as you would in Photoshop, as described in the June 4th Newsletter article Using Color Swatches to Color ScrapSimple Templates. There is a slight menu difference, however.

Once the extra colors have been deleted, click on the Add button. Then navigate to where you saved your downloaded swatch. After you’ve clicked on the swatch and on the *.ASE file type, then you can press the Load button.

The other difference, of course, is that we don’t have Color Overlays in Elements. The most similar way to color the ScrapSimple paper templates that I’ve found is by adding a solid color layer above the template, then clipping and blending it to the template as described in the tutorial on Coloring Patterned Ribbon Templates or by using Solid Color Adjustment Layers described elsewhere, for example in the  Add An Autumn Glow to your Fall Digital Scrapbook Pages tutorial.
