I have a teenage granddaughter and I know with all the drama that can happen in their lives, it never hurts to build them up and encourage them. I decided to make a little star-shaped card with positive sayings that she could put on her dresser or desk and look at every day. This project was a snap to make!
Step 1 – I started out by making six Artist Trading sized cards (ATC’s) using Syndee’s new club Stories We Tell. She has included some great word art with positive messages. If you haven’t made ATC’s before, they are just little works of art sized 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Using the Stories We Tell background papers and matching elements, makes them a breeze to put together!
Step 2 – Print the six cards on one sheet of card stock and then cut them out.
Step 3 – Print one background sheet to mat the ATC’s on. Cut six measuring 3×4 inches.
Step 4 – Then cut three coordinating card stock pieces measuring 7 x 4.25 inches. At this point you can use a fancy corner punch, or just leave the corners as is. Since Audrey likes “girly” things I punched the corners.
Step 5 – Score the 7×4.25 inch card stock pieces and glue them back to back, so that they make a star shape. Glue the ATC to your mat. Then glue your mat to the base. Easy peasy!!

I hope this inspires you to create a positive sayings card for the special “back-to-school” kids in your life!
