When I was looking at the Layer Your Own Brush Set: Doodle Clouds the first thing I thought was “How do I make them look like clouds?”. Soft, fluffy clouds?
Each cloud comes with 3 layers, a base, an outline and a doodle layer.
Step 1 – I used the Paint Bucket tool to color my cloud base a shade darker than my ‘sky’.
Step 2 – Next, using the Dynamic Brush Set: Clouds I picked a cloud pattern I liked and with white paint and my brush set to 600 pixels and at 50% opacity I brushed clouds onto a blank layer, which I then clipped to the cloud base below.
Step 3 – I colored my outline layer darker blue and my doodle layer in white. To add a little more ‘oomph’ I added a narrow white stroke to my outline layer.
Step 4 – Shadows on the doodle layer and the base gave a little more dimension and my clouds were done!
Don’t limit yourself to just clipping papers or using the paint bucket tool when re-coloring; try using brushes for different effects!
