As I was getting ready to do my Christmas cards this year I thought it would be fun to add a little surprise keepsake. I decided to do a smaller tag that could be hung on a tree or attached to a present that matched the card.
Supplies Used:
Digital scrapbooking supplies
8.5 x 11 Cardstock for printing images, papers, tags and to create your card base
Colored cardstock for layering
Paper cutter or scissors
Paper punch
Glitter pen
Adhesives
Ribbon or string to hang your tags
Distressing Tool (optional)
Distress Ink (optional)
Choose the digital scrapbooking kit you want to use (I’m using Assemble Your Own Cards: Antique Christmas). Open an 8.5 x 11 document in your scrapping program.
Create a 3.5 x 4.75 mat, do a stroke outline (this makes it easier to know where to cut) and add your focal image. For the hang tag create a 2.25 x 3.25 mat, do a stroke outline and add your focal image. You can get 2 complete card sets from one 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock; 2 large and 2 small printed focal images.
Once your images are printed, cut them out, add glitter, and distress if you choose to do so. Create your card base by cutting an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock in half to make a 4.25 x 5.5 (A2 size) card.
Assembling the card from the base up:
Card Base
4 x 5.25 piece of cardstock or a printed paper from the digital kit.
3.75 x 5 piece of cardstock or a printed paper from the digital kit.
Add the focal image.
Assembling the hang tag:
You can create 2 base layers for your tag (optional) – they would measure 2.75 x 3.75 and 2.5 x 3.5, punch a hole in the upper corner and add a ribbon.
