A Busy Life
Article written using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 with Windows 7
Life is full of responsibilities, whether it's work-related, family-related, or volunteer-related; life can be busy and keep you on your toes. Or on the other hand, you may be one of the lucky ones who have the time to stop and smell the roses or curl up by the fire reading your favorite book. Everyone tells me there is a time and a season for everything; I believe this is my season to be busy! Even though I enjoy the many activities that surround me, I can't help but wonder what life would be like without the constant running to and fro.
I was asked to document a week in my life with photos, and since my time is short, I went straight to my stash of ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates and hunted for a design using seven photos (one for each day of the week). I found a two-page spread by Elisha Barnett (in ScrapSimple Digital Layout Album Templates: 12x12 Spread Out Mini) that I thought was perfect for what I needed.
Next, I started brainstorming my week and what settings/events would make for good pictures. I placed my little point-and-shoot camera in my purse so I had it handy while I was running all over town. This is what a typically week looks like for me:
Sunday: Church and resting up for the upcoming rush
Monday: I volunteer at our elementary school's library; in the afternoon I do some housework.
Tuesday: I rotate teaching "Joy School" with some other mothers and our three-year-olds (it's kind of like an at-home preschool group). When it isn't my week to teach, I run errands or go to the gym. Tuesday is also laundry day, and in the evening I take my daughter to Girl Scouts, where I am the troop leader.
Wednesday: It's story time at the downtown library for my three-year old. It's also the day I fold all that laundry I washed the day before.
Thursday: I attend a Community Bible Study group and finish off my day with various meeting such as PTO or Book Club.
Friday: Another Joy School day. And date night for my husband and me.
Saturday: My daughter has dance class, and the week I made this layout, she was performing in The Nutcracker as a gingerbread baby. (She was so cute!)
Then throw in the added housework, grocery shopping, and kid/homework drama, and you have one busy mama! Phew!
What does your week look like? Take the challenge and highlight "a photo a day" from one of your weeks. Whether your schedule is busy or your pace is slow, share it with us in the Scrap Girls Gallery. We'd love to see where your life takes you!
