Combining Layout Templates and Super 7 Spreads
Article written using Adobe Photoshop CS6 with Windows 7
Do you have a backlog of photos you're trying to get scrapped? Are you, like me, still scrapping photos from the last century? If so, you're not alone! In this tutorial, we will use a layout template and a Super 7 Spread to make a fast and unique two-paged layout with lots of photos.
First, open a layout template. I used Cheri Thieleke's ScrapSimple Digital Layout Album Templates: 12x12 Line Em Up which is a two-paged template with spaces for multiple photos. Next, arrange your photos in the template. Don't be afraid to switch up the template to make it work for you. I swapped the right and left sides. My photos didn't always match the orientation of those on the template, so I moved, rotated, and enlarged individual template pieces to make them work better with my photos. It doesn't look too pretty yet, but here is what my page looks like at this point. I've shown my photo placement over the layout template pieces so you can see what I changed.

When all your photos are in place, find a Super 7 Spread that works well with them. I chose Syndee Nuckles' Super 7 Spread: Winter's Child. These pages come ready to use as a two-page layout, but they also include the individual embellishments and papers. Now you simply add the papers and embellishments included in the set, arranging them to work with the layout template you've chosen. You can use them in their original groupings or mix them up to fit your page.
To finish up my page, I pulled a few extra embellishments from my digital scrapbooking stash.
This layout came together quickly, which is something I really need when I am working on my Christmas photos from 1999! If you want to speed up your scrapping, try this technique to get more scrapbook pages finished in less time.
