Halloween

Halloween is such a fun time of year for all ages! When I take pictures, I always try to capture not only the colorful costumes, but the home/outdoor decor and special treats, too. It’s all part of what makes Halloween memorable.
This past year, our children received very pretty black-cat suckers at a Halloween party, and I photographed my son holding his up close for the camera. He also wanted to pose next to our skeleton candy bowl holder that we leave out on our step while we go out trick-or-treating together as a family.
I always have fun with my Halloween layouts – plus our Scrap Girls designers include fun and whimsical elements in their collections. Today, I want to share a tip with you that I learned recently.
Occasionally when using a pattern overlay style such as Brandy Murry's ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Chevron Super Biggie 8501, I wish a different area of pattern would show. Here’s the treat: This is easy to do!
After applying the style to your object, press the little fx symbol at the bottom of the Layers Palette and choose Pattern Overlay from the flyout menu.
Uncheck the "Link with Layer" box.
With the larger box still open, left-click and drag on the object and watch the pattern slide around until it is exactly where you need it.

On October 31st, we'll do an All About Home Challenge! Create a layout showing us something about your home - past or present. A favorite room, your comfy reading nook, the special times with family around the dinner table, the exterior, a home improvement project, your first apartment - show future generations your living arrangements!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
Creative Cards Chat

Do you use your Digi-supplies to make cards? Do you want to? Instead of going to the store every time you need a card you can save money and have fun making cards with your digi stash! October's Forum Game: Posting Contest
October is Posting Contest time on the Scrap Girls Forums! You can earn a chance to win a Scrap Girls Gift Certificate by simply being chatty in the Scrap Girls Forums and Gallery. This contest will run from October 1st when we post the thread until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on October 31st.
To enter the Scrap Girls Forum Posting Challenge, you MUST reply in the Posting Contest Thread with your current post count. Your post count is the number under your Avatar that shows when you post. (NOTE: The number found on your profile is a different number and is calculated differently.)
During the month, post your fingers off! At midnight on October 31st, we will calculate your post count based on the numbers posted in the game thread.
PRIZES
- Those with 50-99 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 100-249 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 250-399 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $15 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 400-600 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.

There are costumes in parades, the circus, in shows, and even at parties! Show us the costumes you've seen, and tell us about them!
