Flip Pal Portable Scanners – Free Give-Away!
The Flip Pal folks make the handy, portable scanner that's the size of a typical tablet and can go anywhere with you. It's able to scan all kinds of 3-D objects and has a great stitch function for scanning large items and then "stitching" them together into a seamless large image. It's a great little number to have if you want to start integrating more variety into your digital scrapbooking layouts and craft projects. Plus, it's unbelievably convenient!
Flip Pal is giving away one of their units (including a carrying case) to one of our lucky customers! From now until the end of October, we will be running a contest to help us pick a winner. Do you have a creative, practical, or interesting idea for a project that you would love to use a Flip Pal scanner for? Then go over to the Scrap Girls Blog and tell us about it! Leave us a comment describing your idea, and on October 31st, we will pick the best entry as the winner!
If you are chosen as our winner, we want to keep up with you and find out how you are using your Flip Pal. We will be featuring you in our Newsletter once a season over the next year. Get your creative juices flowing and let us know what you would do with a Flip Pal.
Here are some ideas I came up with to get you inspired:
Go on a "foodie" vacation and use it to scan the menus from all your favorite restaurants
Take it to the thrift store and scan some cool fabric patterns to use for printable crafts
Take it to the cemetery and scan your family's headstones
Additionally, to keep you inspired with your Flip Pal, we have designated our own April Martell to be our official Flip Pal Featurette. Many of you know April (April Showers) from our Forum Gallery where she shows off her wonderful heritage photos in stunning layouts. April will be doing occasional tutorials in our Newsletter showing how she uses her Flip Pal to create her layouts.
I hope you are as excited about Flip-Pal as I am! Don't forget to enter on our blog by tomorrow night!

Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On October 31st, we'll do an All About Home Challenge! Create a layout showing us something about your home - past or present. A favorite room, your comfy reading nook, the special times with family around the dinner table, the exterior, a home improvement project, your first apartment - show future generations your living arrangements!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
Creative Cards Chat
Tuesday, November 6th - 8:00 p.m. EST
Do you use your Digi-supplies to make cards? Do you want to? Instead of going to the store every time you need a card you can save money and have fun making cards with your digi stash! Make a note of any cards you might need for the upcoming month and Join April (April Showers) for the once a month Card Chat on the first Tuesday of each month at 8 PM Eastern Time. October is Posting Contest time on the Scrap Girls Forums! You can earn a chance to win a Scrap Girls Gift Certificate by simply being chatty in the Scrap Girls Forums and Gallery. This contest will run from October 1st when we post the thread until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on October 31st.
To enter the Scrap Girls Forum Posting Challenge, you MUST reply in the Posting Contest Thread with your current post count. Your post count is the number under your Avatar that shows when you post. (NOTE: The number found on your profile is a different number and is calculated differently.)
During the month, post your fingers off! At midnight on October 31st, we will calculate your post count based on the numbers posted in the game thread.
PRIZES
- Those with 50-99 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 100-249 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 250-399 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $15 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 400-600 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 600 or more posts will automatically win a $5 gift certificate and will be entered in all four drawings!

October Monthly Layout Contest: October brings Halloween here in the U.S. and with Halloween comes costumes! Costumes are all around us every day, not just at Halloween. There are costumes in parades, the circus, in shows, and even at parties! Show us the costumes you've seen, and tell us about them! Post your layouts in the October Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight ET on October 31st and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery.
