Year Two
Having just entered my second year of designing for Scrap Girls, I have been giving some thought as to how I could streamline my workflow, how I could be more organized, creative, and therefore, more productive. And that would enable me to create more products on a regular basis for you, our wonderful customers!
I have noticed that I have gotten quicker with pulling my ideas together, sourcing themes, and deciding what I want to create; but I realized that when I put my marketing layouts together, I was pigeonholing them into specific themes, such as a collection biggie-themed layout or an embellishment-themed layout. This was narrowing my creativity and my desire to create the layout. So, for my first collection of my Year Two, I sat down to create my layouts with no preconceived ideas of what I was going to use for each layout and for which item I would market them with.
The joy I felt just designing these layouts as they came to me was enormous. I took my time, I used whatever I wanted on each layout, and by the end, I had created a number of layouts that I was so happy with that I have hung a few of them on the wall in my kitchen.
I am blessed to have a very supportive family behind me who encourages me and believes in my designing - and in me. My husband has always wanted me to do something with my creativity that stretched me, invigorated me, and brought me joy (as well as earned me some money!), so finding the time to design is not as hard as it could be.
I look forward to seeing what Year Two brings me and for me in my designing life, and I hope that the joy it brings to me will be felt by all of you.

Under The Boardwalk Collection Biggie
Some of you know how much I love summer and hate the cold of winter, and so, during one of our coldest winters down here in Melbourne, Australia, I just had to give myself something to look forward to... hence my Under The Boardwalk Collection Biggie. The blues and sandy colors of the beach, the elements of summer that bring a smile to my face are all found here in this collection. My kids love to swim, my son and husband have a ritual of beach cricket, and my daughter and I can read an entire library of books whilst spending time at the beach. With this collection, I can illustrate all of these aspects of our summer and more.

High Noon Crop

Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On October 31st, we'll do an All About Home Challenge! Create a layout showing us something about your home - past or present. A favorite room, your comfy reading nook, the special times with family around the dinner table, the exterior, a home improvement project, your first apartment - show future generations your living arrangements!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
October's Forum Game: Posting Contest
October is Posting Contest time on the Scrap Girls Forums! You can earn a chance to win a Scrap Girls Gift Certificate by simply being chatty in the Scrap Girls Forums and Gallery. This contest will run from October 1st when we post the thread until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on October 31st.
To enter the Scrap Girls Forum Posting Challenge, you MUST reply in the Posting Contest Thread with your current post count. Your post count is the number under your Avatar that shows when you post. (NOTE: The number found on your profile is a different number and is calculated differently.)
During the month, post your fingers off! At midnight on October 31st, we will calculate your post count based on the numbers posted in the game thread.
PRIZES
- Those with 50-99 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 100-249 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 250-399 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $15 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 400-600 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.

October Monthly Layout Contest: October brings Halloween here in the U.S. and with Halloween comes costumes! Costumes are all around us every day, not just at Halloween. There are costumes in parades, the circus, in shows, and even at parties! Show us the costumes you've seen, and tell us about them! Post your layouts in the October Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight ET on October 31st and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
