Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

While driving across town, I came up with this fun plan for my latest layout: Include something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. Sound familiar? Hey, if it's good for brides, it must be good for a digital scrapbooking layout, right?
Let's give it a try. The "something old" could be a product you've had in your stash for ages but just haven't used yet, or it could have been in the Boutique for years but just caught your eye recently. I chose Paula Wright's Fiddle-de-de Collection, which was released back in 2008. For some reason, this gem hadn't yet found its way into my stash.
Next, we need "something new." Cindy Rohrbaugh's Rustic Charm Collection Mini caught my eye and will do nicely. Both of these collections have blue, so I've satisfied my "something blue" requirement with a double whammy here.
Hmm... "something borrowed." Does this sound familiar? Remember my summer article on scraplifting? Yep, I will borrow an idea from another person's layout. I like Thao Cosgrove's idea to have the baby photo "floating" on a bed of clouds in this layout:

Now when I put it all together, here’s my layout that fulfills my personal challenge to find something old, new, borrowed, and blue.
I think this guarantees sweet dreams for everyone! Today, challenge yourself to something that will stretch your creativity while carving out a little time to do some digital scrapbooking and preserving those precious memories!

High Noon Crop
Wednesday, October 24th - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On October 24th, we will be doing a ScrapSimple challenge! Create a layout using at least one Scrap Simple product. If you haven't used them before, we'll have some great ideas for you in the chat.
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!

October is Posting Contest time on the Scrap Girls Forums! You can earn a chance to win a Scrap Girls Gift Certificate by simply being chatty in the Scrap Girls Forums and Gallery. This contest will run from October 1st when we post the thread until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on October 31st.
To enter the Scrap Girls Forum Posting Challenge, you MUST reply in the Posting Contest Thread with your current post count. Your post count is the number under your Avatar that shows when you post. (NOTE: The number found on your profile is a different number and is calculated differently.)
During the month, post your fingers off! At midnight on October 31st, we will calculate your post count based on the numbers posted in the game thread.
PRIZES
- Those with 50-99 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 100-249 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 250-399 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $15 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 400-600 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 600 or more posts will automatically win a $5 gift certificate and will be entered in all four drawings!

October Monthly Layout Contest: October brings Halloween here in the U.S. and with Halloween comes costumes! Costumes are all around us every day, not just at Halloween. There are costumes in parades, the circus, in shows, and even at parties! Show us the costumes you've seen, and tell us about them! Post your layouts in the October Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight ET on October 31st and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery.
