Positive Attitude Month

Being positive is a choice. It means choosing to look for the good in any given situation, no matter how difficult that may be. Having a positive attitude helps us achieve our goals faster, cope easier with daily life, keeps us healthier, and, in general, makes us feel happier and more content with our lives.
October is Positive Attitude Month. This is a good time to take stock of our lives and make the choice to live with a more positive outlook. One way we can help achieve that goal is by using positive affirmations. Positive affirmations are short quotes, sayings, or statements that we can say to ourselves to keep a positive mental attitude, especially in trying situations. For many people, positive affirmations will replace the negative self-talk habit that they may have fallen into. Affirmations can be found in many places: Quotes abound on the Internet, personal "I am..." statements that you come up with yourself, song lyrics, or from the Bible, just to name a few.
If you are anything like me, you have jotted, pinned, bookmarked, and saved pages of positive quotes or affirmations that caught your fancy, only to forget where you "saved" them. What good are they if you can't find them again? A great way I have come up with to keep track of some of my favorites is to make small ATC-sized cards out of them (Artist Trading Cards). The small size makes them very versatile, and I can slip one in my wallet, put one in my daughter's lunch pail for a surprise pick-me-up during the day, hang it on the fridge with a magnet, or tape it to the bathroom mirror to start off my day with a great attitude.

This product provides you with a layered template which allows you to personalize as needed. By combining these templates with your favorite collections and personal positive affirmations, you can surround yourself with good thoughts all day long!
Here are a few of my personal favorites. I have them taped to my bathroom mirror where I see them first thing in the morning and several times throughout the day. They keep me in a good mood and remind me of the attitude I have chosen to live my life by. What about you? What are some of your favorite sayings and affirmations? High Noon Crop
Wednesday, October 3rd - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On October 3rd, we'll do a white space challenge! Create a layout using white space. This "negative" or blank space guides the eye to the important areas of your page. Remember, it certainly doesn't have to be the color white!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
New Member Chat
Tuesday, October 9th - 9:00PM EDT

October's Forum Game: Posting Contest
October is Posting Contest time on the Scrap Girls Forums! You can earn a chance to win a Scrap Girls Gift Certificate by simply being chatty in the Scrap Girls Forums and Gallery. This contest will run from October 1st when we post the thread until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on October 31st.
To enter the Scrap Girls Forum Posting Challenge, you MUST reply in the Posting Contest Thread with your current post count. Your post count is the number under your Avatar that shows when you post. (NOTE: The number found on your profile is a different number and is calculated differently.)
During the month, post your fingers off! At midnight on October 31st, we will calculate your post count based on the numbers posted in the game thread.
PRIZES
- Those with 50-99 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 100-249 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.

There are costumes in parades, the circus, in shows, and even at parties! Show us the costumes you've seen, and tell us about them!
