New Scrap Girls Designer: Meet Cheri!
As many of you are aware, Scrap Girls put out a call for new designers this summer. We are fortunate to have an amazing group of designers already, but it's always good to mix things up now and then to keep things fresh and exciting.
We got an overwhelming response to our ad, and our inbox quickly filled up with beautiful papers and lovely embellishments sent to us from all around the globe. It was like Christmas every morning for weeks!
As you can imagine, with so many great applicants, it was very difficult to choose. We gave careful consideration to what we already offer in our Boutique and what customers have told us they are interested in. Now we are happy to announce the whole handful of new folks chosen to round out our Scrap Girls team. We can't wait to have you get to know them and their amazing work.
We will be introducing each of them to you individually in our newsletters this fall. We hope that you will enjoy their designs and find some great new supplies to add to your stash and new ideas to keep you inspired.
The first designer I want to introduce is Cheri Thieleke.
If you are thinking that name looks awfully familiar, you are right! Cheri has been on our Layout Artist team for a couple of years, creating some of the beautiful layouts you see in our newsletter each day. Now she is ready to use what she learned while creating all those layouts to help you, because Cheri will be bringing a full line of layout templates to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
Cheri's interest in creating her own layout templates started when she was hosting sketch chats on our Forum and often provided layout sketches to help people get started on their layouts. From talking to so many customers in these chats, she learned that many really like to start with a template because it helps them get going faster, and it takes some of the pressure off when they are a little short on creative energy.
As a busy mom of three boys, Cheri wants to provide customers with layout templates that feature lots of photos on each page to help customers use more of their great photos. She is also a big fan of two-page layout spreads as a way of capturing a full event. We hope that you will find that Cheri's templates are a great way to jump-start your scrapping and end up with beautiful and professional layouts.
Cheri said she is thrilled not only to be helping our customers get more scrapping done, but also because her template designing has really been speeding up her own scrapbooking!

Creative Cards Chat
Tuesday, October 2nd - 8:00PM EDT
Do you use your digital supplies to make cards? Do you want to? Instead of going to the store every time you need a card, you can save money and have fun making cards with your digi stash! Make a note of any cards you might need for the upcoming month and join April (April Showers) and Theresa (tiza126) for the once-a-month Card Chat on the first Tuesday of each month at 8pm ET. High Noon Crop
Wednesday, October 3rd - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On October 3rd, we'll do a white space challenge! Create a layout using white space. This "negative" or blank space guides the eye to the important areas of your page. Remember, it certainly doesn't have to be the color white!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
New Member Chat
Tuesday, October 9th - 9:00PM EDT
Join Pat (PBarnes) for the New Member Chat at 9pm ET in the Live Chat room lobby. This is a great place to ask questions about getting around the Scrap Girls site or about digital scrapbooking in general - and a great place to make some new friends. All are welcome, new and long time members included. You will need to have Java installed on your computer to access the Live Chat.
High Noon Crop
Wednesday, September 10th - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On October 10th, we'll do a patterned paper challenge! Create a layout on any theme, any topic, and any colors - using multiple patterned papers - at least 2 different patterns! Mix it up!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
September's Forum Game: Simplify September
This month's Scrap Girls Forum game, Simplify September, is designed to help you get more scrapbooking done with a series of simple steps that add up to a finished project at the end of each week.
Throughout September, Monday through Saturday, a team member will post a daily layout step in the Simplify September game thread; the first week has seven steps, and the remaining three weeks have six steps each. These steps will be posted in large purple font so they will be easy to spot.
Members who complete the steps required in the game thread and post all four layouts in the Simplify September Gallery will be entered in a drawing for one of two $15.00 Scrap Girls Boutique Gift Certificates.
Each completed layout posted in the Simplify September Gallery, up to four per member, will be entered in a drawing for one of four $5.00 Scrap Girls Boutique Gift Certificates.
You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on September 30, 2012, to complete the steps and post your layouts to the Simplify September Gallery.

September Monthly Layout Contest: September is Classical Music Month! For the September Layout Contest, we'd love to see your layouts featuring music! You could scrap a favorite song, a concert, or even some musical instruments! Post your layouts in the September Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight ET on September 30th and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
