Scrap Girls' Member of the Month - September 2012

1. What program do you use to digitally scrapbook?
I have CS5 Extended, so I scrap mostly in Photoshop. Occasionally, I use Illustrator as well.
2. Are you a Mac or a PC?
I am very definitely a PC person. The pastor at my church (I'm the secretary) swears by his Mac and tried to convince me to set up the office with Macs. He finally got tired of trying to help me figure out what I was doing and just bought me a PC.
3. Tell us the make and model of digital camera that you use.
I use a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10.
4. Name one thing that every beginner digital scrapbooker should know.
Don't be afraid of your computer. Before you can do anything damaging, it's going to ask you if you're sure you really want to do that. If it doesn't ask, then it probably wasn't huge and Undo (Ctrl+Z) should fix whatever it was. Just EXPERIMENT!
5. If you could be transformed into a digital scrapbooking embellishment, what would you choose and why?
Golly, I guess my current favorite is styles. I finally bought a few and fell in love with them. I love how styles can make an item uniquely yours.
6. What time of day do you find that you do your best scrapbooking?
I tend to do most of my scrapping during the day while the kids and my hubby are at school. During the summer and vacations, all bets are off, of course. I may or may not get anything done.
7. What is your favorite snack?
Actually, gum. I found years ago that when I work on something that requires a lot of thought, I get the munchies. If I snacked every time I thought, I'd weigh a thousand pounds, so I started chewing gum instead.
8. What is your least favorite household chore?
Hahaha... all of them? I guess, if you're going to make me pick... dusting and vacuuming. They make my allergies flare, and I'm just miserable.
9. Finish this sentence. "I couldn't live without..."
My God and my family (biological and otherwise). Once upon a time, I tried to go it alone and failed miserably. Now that I'm back in alignment with His will and relying on my family's support (instead of shunning it), I'm happier, healthier, and far more productive.
10. What's your current favorite layout that you've done?

High Noon Crop
Wednesday, September 19th - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On September 19th, we'll do a No Photo Challenge! Create a layout without any photos. Everything else is fine! Are there some things you'd like to document but you don't have photos? Try using scanned memorabilia or extensive journaling to make a memorable layout without photos.
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
Heritage Crop
Thursday, September 20th - 9:00PM EDT

Join April (April Showers) at 9pm ET for the Heritage Crop and Chat! September's Forum Game: Simplify September
This month's Scrap Girls Forum game, Simplify September, is designed to help you get more scrapbooking done with a series of simple steps that add up to a finished project at the end of each week.
Throughout September, Monday through Saturday, a team member will post a daily layout step in the Simplify September game thread; the first week has seven steps, and the remaining three weeks have six steps each. These steps will be posted in large purple font so they will be easy to spot.
Members who complete the steps required in the game thread and post all four layouts in the Simplify September Gallery will be entered in a drawing for one of two $15.00 Scrap Girls Boutique Gift Certificates.
Each completed layout posted in the Simplify September Gallery, up to four per member, will be entered in a drawing for one of four $5.00 Scrap Girls Boutique Gift Certificates.
You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on September 30, 2012, to complete the steps and post your layouts to the Simplify September Gallery.
