Introducing digiDoer by Jacqui Smith
digiDoer came about as Scrap Girls Designer Jacqui Smith's solution to the growing boxes of childhood memorabilia that was filling her garage, especially when her son began school. She had photographed a few paintings from his kindergarten year to make wrapping paper, and that's when she began to think about what could be done with the ever-growing collection of treasured memories gathering around her home. So many of her friends had the same situation of boxes and bags (that seemed to breed and make more!) around the house, and everyone wanted to DO something with these memories, but no one really knew what or where to begin.
As a graphic designer who enjoys organizing and creating systems, Jacqui set out to find a way to transfer these growing treasured memories into a format that could be enjoyed, while claiming back much-valued space about her home. She could see the benefits of transferring the items into a digital format and so she began the task of creating an annual for each year. Fast forward to today... it has developed into a simple process of organizing, converting, creating, and sharing.

High Noon Crop
Wednesday, August 22nd - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon EDT for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On August 22nd, we'll do a Nature Challenge! Create a layout that shows nature in some way. It could be flowers, wildlife, camping - anything that highlights nature.
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
ScrapSimple Club Chat

Join Shannon (tinkerbell11) in our Chat room for the monthly ScrapSimple Club Chat! Share our ideas to use the month's club and have some fun chatting. Post your layouts in the Scrap Girls ScrapSimple Club Members gallery, and you may win a prize if it is chosen to be featured in the Newsletter.
August's Forum Game: BINGO
Join us for an exciting game of August BINGO on the Scrap Girls Forum!! Pick 25 words from the list provided and send them in an email to [email protected] with a subject line that says "BINGO CARD - your Scrap Girls Forum username" by Wednesday August 1st (Midnight EDT) in order to play in the first round. The first round will begin on Thursday, August 2nd. If you miss the first round deadline, you can still play! Just send in your BINGO card at any time during the month, and you'll be eligible to begin playing when the next new round starts.
Each day (Monday through Saturday), a member of the Welcoming Committee will call five random words from the BINGO list. Match just 15 of those words to win a BINGO. You must be first to call "BINGO!" in the game thread to win that round. After a winner is called, the boards will be cleared and a new round will begin the following day.
Each winner will receive a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! We like to see lots of winners, so please remember that each person can only win one round during the month. Have fun!

August Monthly Layout Contest: Summer vacation time! We'd love to see your layouts featuring your summer vacations! Have you gone on the trip of a lifetime? Or an annual trip with family or friends? Have you had a fun staycation right in your own town? We'd love to get a glimpse into how you spend your vacation and why you chose spend your time that way! Post your layouts in the August Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight EDT on August 31st and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
