Celebrate the spirit of summer throughout the year with this fun and colorful collection. The collection has 10 background papers with a good mix of patterned and solid ones. Summer-themed embellishments, word art and a set of alpha are also included.

Ever wish that you could be a Product Designer for Scrap Girls?
Well, now's your chance to apply!
If you are interested, please forward the following items to hello@scrapgirls.com.
The subject line must read: Product Designer Application.
- 3 color palettes that you might use as a basis for designing collections.
- A sample collection mini, consisting of 6 background papers, 1 "sheet" of embellishments, and 1 "sheet" of word art.
A "sheet" consists of a grouping of items that will fit on an 8.5x11 document. Take care to make sure that the collection mini's color set is well balanced and that it has an idea that ties it together. It should contain enough embellishments and word art to be useful to someone who wishes to make several layouts from it. Also, take care that the embellishments are not a grouping of a small number of items that have just been re-colored. This is your opportunity to show your versatility and skill level.
- At least one sample layout using the collection mini.
- A sample brush set with 3 brushes.
- A sample paper template set (like our ScrapSimple Paper Templates) with 2 papers.
- A sample embellishment template set (like our ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates) with 3 embellishments.
Examples of all of these products can be found in our Boutique.
Also, please answer the following questions in the body of your application email:
- Approximately how much would you like to earn each month?
- Approximately how many hours do you have to dedicate to design work each week?
- What are your goals as it pertains to design work?
- Why are you interested in working with Scrap Girls?
- What software do you use?
- Include any other information that you think would be helpful as we make our decision.
Other instructions: Save your files as 600px wide, 72 dpi. Place them in one zipped folder and forward with your application email.
DEADLINE: Friday, July 13, 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)

Motivation
When I started this weight loss journey a year ago, I never knew where it would lead me. I honestly thought it would be the same thing that happened many times in the past: It would only last a day or two.
I have to admit, the first few months were easy. When you see the scales drop a few pounds each week, no matter what you do, you feel really inspired and you realize you can do this.
But after a while, the weight loss slows down, and that's when this journey gets really hard. You have to give yourself a gut check and realize you can stick it out to the end.
I've been lucky, though, to start this journey with a great group of friends who all have the same end-goal in sight, just to become a "better me." We've gone through the ups and downs, as well as the struggles of trying to figure out when we'll be content with the amount of weight lost and move to a maintenance plan. And no matter what, the bottom line is the same: We just feel better, and that's the important thing.
One thing that has really motivated me through this whole process is our get-together every few months. We always make it a point to take a group photo, since that original photo is what gave us the kick in the pants we needed to get started. To sit back and reflect on the photos over this time period is great, and it really makes you see the changes you've made since the previous photo.
So, to anyone starting out on this journey, I would highly recommend that you take a photo of yourself every few months. And on those days you are down or feel like you're just not getting anywhere on your journey, pull out those photos and take a look at them. I think you'll see more changes than you realize.

Journaling Challenge Crop

New Member Chat

This is a great place to ask questions about getting around the Scrap Girls site or about digital scrapbooking in general - and a great place to make some new friends. High Noon Crop
Wednesday, July 11th - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon EDT for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On July 11th, we'll do a Texture Challenge! Create a layout using textures - either a richly detailed photograph, a textured paper, embellishments, whatever! Add some texture!
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
July's Forum Game: Spotlight on the Boutique
Each day of July (with the exception of Sundays), a member of the Welcoming Committee will post an image spotlighting a small circle of the layout you are to search for in the Scrap Girls Boutique. If the layout is not identified by the following morning, a second spotlight circle will be added to the layout; this will be repeated until the product is identified.
All you have to do to participate is search the boutique for the layout and post a link to the product page in the official game thread. Only one guess per member per day is allowed. You can find more specific details in the forum game thread.
Three $10 gift certificates to the Scrap Girls Boutique will be awarded. The winners will be randomly chosen from all the members that correctly identify a product throughout the month.

July Monthly Layout Contest: Hot! Hot! Hot! In the northern hemisphere, July is generally a month of very warm temperatures. For July's layout contest, we want you to scrap about what you do to stay cool – whether it'is in July or December. Post your layouts in the July Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight EDT on July 31st and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
