Ever wish that you could be a Product Designer for Scrap Girls?
Well, now's your chance to apply!
If you are interested, please forward the following items to hello@scrapgirls.com.
The subject line must read: Product Designer Application.
- 3 color palettes that you might use as a basis for designing collections.
- A sample collection mini, consisting of 6 background papers, 1 "sheet" of embellishments, and 1 "sheet" of word art.
A "sheet" consists of a grouping of items that will fit on an 8.5x11 document. Take care to make sure that the collection mini's color set is well balanced and that it has an idea that ties it together. It should contain enough embellishments and word art to be useful to someone who wishes to make several layouts from it. Also, take care that the embellishments are not a grouping of a small number of items that have just been re-colored. This is your opportunity to show your versatility and skill level.
- At least one sample layout using the collection mini.
- A sample brush set with 3 brushes.
- A sample paper template set (like our ScrapSimple Paper Templates) with 2 papers.
- A sample embellishment template set (like our ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates) with 3 embellishments.
Examples of all of these products can be found in our Boutique.
Also, please answer the following questions in the body of your application email:
- Approximately how much would you like to earn each month?
- Approximately how many hours do you have to dedicate to design work each week?
- What are your goals as it pertains to design work?
- Why are you interested in working with Scrap Girls?
- What software do you use?
- Include any other information that you think would be helpful as we make our decision.
Other instructions: Save your files as 600px wide, 72 dpi. Place them in one zipped folder and forward with your application email.
DEADLINE: Friday, July 13, 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Notifications of results will be sent to all applicants by Friday, July 20.

A Memorable Birthday
One of my most memorable birthdays was when I turned 22. I was at Bible college, and my dorm had a small party for me the night before with presents and cake. When I went to bed that night, I pulled back the covers, and there was a playful surprise from my genius roommates. I found a boat load of candy in my bed!
The thrills continued throughout the next day. The girls in my dorm had instructed my first period teacher (I’ll call him Mr. Single Guy) to give me a rose and then have the class sing to me. It was a bit awkward (and entertaining) when Mr. Single Guy presented the rose while bashfully explaining to the class that the rose was not from him but from my mischievous dorm.
In chapel, I was sung to again.
In the cafeteria, there was a balloon tied to the back of my chair. My roomies continued the merriment by lunching with me and leading everyone in another round of “Happy Birthday” singing.
Having the gifts unexpectedly appearing throughout the day and all the birthday songs made it an unforgettable day. I will treasure the thought and effort my friends put into making it one of my most favorite birthdays.
The birthday traditions in our home are now based on this one day. Presents are given throughout the day, and “Happy Birthday” is said at every chance. The memories continue with a special dinner out and more gifts for a celebratory day.

High Noon Crop
Wednesday, June 27th - 12 Noon EDT
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon EDT for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On June 27th, we'll do a Journaling Challenge. Create a layout with more than five sentences of meaningful journaling.
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
Creative Cards Chat
Tuesday, July 3rd - 8:00PM EDT
Do you use your digital supplies to make cards? Do you want to? Instead of going to the store every time you need a card, you can save money and have fun making cards with your digi stash! Make a note of any cards you might need for the upcoming month and Join April (April Showers) for the once-a-month Card Chat on the first Tuesday of each month at 8pm ET. Can't wait to see you there!
June's Forum Game: Re-JUNE-venate!
We helped you jumpstart your January and now it's time to re-JUNE-venate your focus on scrapbooking! Join us on the Scrap Girls Forum for "Re-JUNE-venate!" This is a game and challenge that focuses on taking time to scrapbook regularly despite the little "speedbumps" of life. When the month is over you'll have completed several layouts and been treated to some fun along the way.
A Welcoming Committee Member will post a task each Monday through Saturday from June 1-30. The tasks will be formatted in a LARGE PURPLE FONT for ease of locating them in the game thread as it grows. Some tasks will require Forum participation, email responses or gallery posting. Read each daily task carefully to see what is required of you.
Those who complete all the required tasks and submit or post required participation by 11:59pm EDT on June 30th will be entered in a drawing to win one of three $10 Gift Certificates to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Those who complete all the layouts will be entered in a drawing to win one of two $5 Gift Certificates. Each person who completes a layout will be entered – once for each completed challenge page- into a drawing for one of three $3 Gift Certificates.

June Monthly Layout Contest: June is full of weddings and graduations – a time of pomp and circumstance. For June's contest, we want to see your wedding, graduation or other special occasion layouts. Post your layouts in the June Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight EDT on June 30th and you could one of the two people who will win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! Please be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties.
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
