|
GENERAL INFORMATION

Ro IMPORTANT TO KNOWDon't forget to check out the Retirement Sale section of the Boutique. Items in this section are always on sale for 30% off. The items you will find during any particular month will be discontinued permanently on the 5th of the following month. So if you see something you like, grab it while you can! OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUSuggest a Challenge, Win a Prize! Have a great idea for a Gallery layout challenge? Submit it to [email protected]. If your challenge idea is chosen, you will win a prize! Friday will be Customer Challenge Day, so keep an eye out on the Message Board calendar. It will be fun to see what YOU come up with for us to do!
Of course, it is a surprise what you will receive because birthday presents should alway be a surprise! Make sure your Forum email address is current and that you have the correct birthdate entered into your profile to participate. |
TIP OF THE DAYNot sure if something is on sale? The Boutique will always have the regular price in black and the sale price in red. If you do not see a red price, it's likely that the product is not involved in the current sale. |

While I was browsing the Scrap Girls Forum today, I came upon a question from a member. She was looking for the corresponding layouts and ingredients list for a product she had already purchased. The answers provided by other members were a great help (which is one reason our Scrap Girls Forum is such a wonderful place!), so I thought I'd put together those answers along with some screenshots for you. Maybe you, too, have had questions about how to search through our huge product inventory for that one right product you remember seeing sometime, somewhere. Let me show you how to find it!
1. Search by the name of the product.
Presuming you know the name of the exact product you want to find, you can search by that product name. Look at the marketing image (the sample layout that comes with a collection or the image showing all the ingredients in a collection) to find the exact name of the product and the product designer's name. In the search box on the main Scrap Girls Boutique page (top left), type in the exact name in quotation marks. For example, I want to search for anything to do with the Citrus Splash Collection, so I type "Citrus Splash" in the search box.
Everything to do with "Citrus Splash" will show up on the search list on the right. Also, anything that has "Citrus Splash" in the product will show up in your search.
2. Find a previously purchased product.
The second way to find a product that you've purchased before is to click on My Account just above the search bar.
When the log-in screen comes up, log in. Once you've logged in, you'll see a list of everything you've purchased. A bit below, you'll see the detailed orders with links to the products. Just click on the link and it goes directly to the product page. You can see layout examples with ingredient lists, as well as information on the product and sometimes other related products.
3. Search by category or designer name.
Frequently, you don't have a specific product in mind, but you have a vague idea of what you're after. Maybe you remember the designer who often creates products that have a "feel" that appeals to you. Maybe you only know the general subject matter you're searching for, such as summer, sports, holidays, or beach.
You can search by Categories or by Designers by using the drop-down menus on the left side of the Boutique page. Clicking on one of the menu items will take you to a subsection of the Boutique that is already topic-specific.
Take a moment to browse the categories – we have a lot to choose from! ScrapSimple means it's a ScrapSimple product and that would take you to all things in the ScrapSimple category. Collections, embellishments, papers, etc., are found in the Pretty Things category, and so on.
Remember, click on the Categories drop-down box to search by category and the Designers drop-down box to search by the designer's name.
4. Ask in the Forum.
Lastly, but I'm sure not the only option left, is to ask in the Forum. The girls there are wonderful and will always go above and beyond to help out! The link to the Forum to ask about products in the Boutique is here.
And before I close off, I thought I'd also point out that if you're looking for product layout ideas, there are many, many, many fabulous examples in the Scrap Girls Gallery, which can be found here. To search in the Gallery, there are many options:
You can search by designer name or by looking in the Scrap Girls Layout Artists category. You'll find lots of great inspirational layouts there.
You can search by using the search bar, similar to searching in the Boutique, although this time you would want to search by the designer's initials (example: ATR for Andrea Trump's designs) or by the first part of a file name found in the product you are looking for (example: EBA_LifeKeeping for Elisha's Life Keeping Collection).
And you can always look around the Gallery for inspiration. Just about any layout can be used with any product, so all you have to do is picture it and then make it work with what you have!
I hope this answers any of your product or layout search questions. If you have any more, please feel free to drop by the Scrap Girls Forum in the Questions, Comments and Suggestions category. The girls at Scrap Girls are wonderfully helpful, and I promise, we've all needed help one time or another!

May's Forum Game: Boutique Alphabet Game!
The Boutique Alphabet Game is back! Do you remember playing the game "I am going on a _____ hunt and bringing..." where each player listed items starting with a specific letter? We are playing a similar game on the Scrap Girls Forum during the month of May. Each day except Sundays, a team member will post a new theme and starting letter in the game thread. Members then will search the Scrap Girls Boutique for a product that fits the theme and post it in the game thread. Entries are to follow the alphabet starting with the letter posted with the theme each day. Only one product per letter per round will be counted and products may not be used more than once. Collections and their individual parts count as one product. Time stamps will be used to determine credit in the case of duplicate letter or product posts. There is a limit of three game posts per person each day and another player must post before posting again. Member names will be added to a drawing based on the number of qualified product links posted in the thread.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the month and winners will be announced in the June 9th Newsletter. Gift certificates will be awarded as follows: $15 SG Gift Certificate for first place, $10 SG Gift Certificate for second place and a $5 SG Gift Certificate for third place.
For complete details, visit the Monthly Forum Games folder on the Scrap Girls Forum.
May Monthly Layout Contest: May is a big month in the northern hemisphere for flowers. For this month's layout contest, we're going to give a little twist on the usual flower photos. We want you to try your hand at extreme close-ups. Be creative in point of view and angle. Even most point-and-shoot cameras have a close-up mode. Do the best you can with the equipment you have and scrap a layout with a photo or two – or three. Your submission will be judged on its merit as a layout, not necessarily the photography. Post your layouts in the May Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight MDT on May 31st. Be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties. Two layouts will be selected to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
