Just Me!
This is my first Designer's Life article, and I have to tell you that it's been really hard to put together because I hate writing about myself. Similarly, I have an aversion to smiling at the camera, so there are few photographs of me in my scrapping - I am far more at home on the other side of the camera.
I am a bit too short, a bit too chubby, and gravity seems to have a far stronger effect on parts of my body than it did 20 years ago! But I'm happy and contented, and I wouldn't trade what I've got to be 20 years younger.
I cherish my family - Paul is my husband, my rock and my very best friend. After nearly 30 years together, he can still make me laugh until my sides ache. He supports me in everything I do, yet keeps me grounded when I venture forth on madcap schemes or flights of fantasy! He and the kids and grandkids are the center of my world. I worry about the kids, even though they're grown, and look after the five grandchildren whilst their mums are at work, fitting my designing in between school runs.
I miss my dear mum. She was my friend and my role model, and if I am just half the Mum and Nana that she was, I will be satisfied. I still miss my dad, too, and wish that the grandchildren could have known him.
I love nature and wildlife and walking in the countryside, especially on crisp and frosty winter mornings. I'm a big kid where Christmas is concerned, and I get as excited as the children. I just wish nobody had told me the truth about Santa! I enjoy all things crafty - photography, digital and hybrid scrapping, free machine embroidery, altered art, and anything else that takes my fancy. I loathe shopping, especially for clothes or shoes, but I could lose a whole day in a good bookshop. I laugh at Wallace and Gromit, and Men Behaving Badly, and I cry at sad movies (and the ones with really happy endings, too). I hate bad manners and rudeness, and I wish I could sing and play the saxophone.
Oh, and I adore chocolate!

Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 10am MT for the East Coast High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On April 18th, we'll do a 3 Photo Challenge. Create a layout using three photos - no more, no less.
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!

April's Forum Game: BINGO!
Join us for an exciting game of Springtime BINGO on the Message Board Forum in April! Pick 25 words from the list provided in the forum game thread and send them in an email to [email protected] with a subject line that says "BINGO CARD - your Scrap Girls Message Board username" by Tuesday, April 3rd at Midnight MDT in order to play in the first round. The first round will begin on Wednesday, April 4th. If you miss the first round deadline, you can still play! Just send in your BINGO card at any time during the month, and you'll be eligible to begin playing when the next new round starts.
Each day, a member of the Welcoming Committee will call five random words from the BINGO list. Match just 15 of those words to win a BINGO. You must be first to call "BINGO!" in the game thread to win that round. After a winner is called, the boards will be cleared and a new round will begin the following day.
Each winner will receive a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! We like to see lots of winners, so please remember that each person can only win one round during the month. Have fun!

April Monthly Layout Contest: Life is full of surprises! Here in the United States, we have April Fools' Day on April 1st. Have you ever been surprised by someone playing an April Fools' joke on you? Or, you can scrap about another surprise that has happened in your life. You don't have to have photos. It could be a journaling page. Post your layouts in the April Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight MDT on April 30th. Be sure to list your layout's product credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties. Two layouts will be selected to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery.
