Some of My Best Memories
Some of my favorite childhood memories are camping with my family in California. As far back as I can remember, every spring and summer, we would pack up our camper and off we would go. When I was about six years old, we went to Sequoia National Forest for Easter. My mom made us feather headdresses out of paper, and we went on an adventure to track deer. We also had the most wonderful Easter egg hunt in a magical forest with the most humongous, glorious trees. For lunch one day, my parents surprised us with a picnic on the side of a hill that was covered with orange poppies. As if that wasn't enough adventure for one trip, one morning we woke up and saw bear tracks all over our campsite, and all of our food had been rummaged through. Scary!
As a young teenager, there were several summers that we would spend almost every weekend camping at the beach. My brother and I were allowed to invite one friend. That was always the best part. We would treat our besties to so much fun - boogie boarding, playing Frisbee®, Backgammon, Yahtzee®, and cards. At dusk, we would all sit around to watch the sunset together and, of course, roast marshmallows and tell stories when it got dark.
When I was around 20 years old, we started going to Zaca Lake with a big group of people. It's another magical and wondrous place with a beautiful lake, surrounded by a forest and right next to Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. Each day, we would pack a lunch and either swim or take a boat to the dock in the middle of the lake. There is a lodge where we could all eat breakfast together. On at least one morning, we would cook and make breakfast burritos with all the fixin's. Yum! As our lives were getting busier and families were getting larger, it was a place where we could all meet every year - where time seemed to stand still.
To this day, we go camping at least once a year. Being in nature has been and is still one of the only times that I can completely let go and allow myself to do absolutely nothing. And those have been some of the best memories of my life.

Favorite Product I've designed:
Wandering Garden Collection Biggie
The Wandering Garden Collection Biggie was my very first product. I was so excited and spent weeks working on every little detail. It was inspired by my love of nature, which I thought was fitting for this particular article, and it is the perfect kit to compliment all spring and summer photos.
