Using the Brush Set: Glow & ScrapSimple Styles: Glow Stick
Tutorial created using Adobe Photoshop CS3 with Mac OS 10.5.8 - Leopard
Want to make your digital scrapbooking pages glow? This tutorial will show you just how easy it can be!
Start by opening a dark paper background like JWH_MagicVacation_Paper_Sky.jpg. The dark paper will allow the glowing effect we are making to really shine.
Now, let's create a glowing frame. To get started, draw a circle path using the Circular Path Tool.
Next, create a new, empty layer. Change your foreground color to black; then grab a 50-pixel brush from the Brush Palette. Stroke the highlighted circle path, using the Stroke Path command. This style set works best on black objects.
Now it's time to make your path glow! Load ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Glow Stick 10801. With the stroked circle layer selected, click on the Glow Stick Style of your choice. I used the blue style from this set.
Next, we'll put a glowing headline on our layout. Load Brush Set: Glow. Create a new, empty layer above the background paper. Select the "Glow" word brush from the set and adjust the size in the Brush Palette (if necessary).
With your foreground color as black, stamp the "Glow" word brush on the new layer. Then apply the Glow-in-the-Dark style from ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Glow Stick 10801.
Type in the remaining words for the title and apply the same style to your text. Now you have a glow-in-the-dark title!

These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week. On February 8th, we'll do a Color Challenge! Create a layout on any theme, any topic, using the colors red and white! Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!

February is Posting Contest time on the Scrap Girls Forums! You can win a Scrap Girls Gift Certificate by simply being chatty in the Scrap Girls Forums and Gallery. This contest will run from February 1st when we post the thread until 11:59pm MT on February 29th.
To enter the Scrap Girls Forum Posting Contest, you MUST reply in the Posting Contest Thread with your CURRENT post count. Your post count is the number under your avatar that shows when you post. (NOTE: The number found on your profile is a number which is calculated differently.) During the month, post your fingers off! At Midnight on February 29th, we will calculate your post count based on the numbers posted in the game thread.
PRIZES:
- Those with 50-99 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 100-249 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 250-399 posts will be entered in a drawing for a $15 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate.
- Those with 400 or more posts will automatically win a $5 gift certificate and will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Scrap Girls Gift Certificate!
