How to Make a Printable Christmas Card
Note: Tutorial created using Adobe Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS X
I love making cards with our ScrapSimple card templates! Our digital scrapbooking templates make it fast and easy to create unique, personalized cards to send to family and friends. Why not create your Christmas cards this year and save money?
Let's create a Christmas card using ScrapSimple Card Templates: Christmas Cards.
First, open up one of the card templates. I have chosen to use the "Celebrate the Season" template.
Next, open up a few digital scrapbooking papers and begin layering them over each piece of the template. Use Ctrl+Alt+G (PC) or Cmd+Opt+G (Mac) to clip your papers to each layer. Start with the background of the card and work your way up. I used the Gingerbread Kisses Collection.
This is how my card looks after I was done clipping papers to each layer. Then, I added drop shadows to each layer using ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Butterfly Shadows Mini 6301.
Next, I added a glitter edge style to the mat under the tree to give it a little pizazz! You just can't have enough bling! This is the perfect time to add any personalization or embellishments to the card. Save the card as a JPG, then save the original PSD file and close.
Now it's time to get the card ready for printing. Open up your newly created JPG and rotate it so that it's vertical. Create a new letter-size document (8.5x11 inches) at 300 dpi. Drag your card over to your new document and center it as best you can. You just want to make sure that it's not too close to the edge of the document.
Now you are ready to print your card! Go up to your File menu and choose Print. Print as many copies as you wish onto lightweight matte photo paper or cardstock. Cut out and fold in half. That's all there is to it!

East Coast High Noon Crop
Wednesday, December 7th - 10:00AM MST
Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 10am MT for the East Coast High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week. On December 7th, we'll do a white space challenge! Create a layout using white space. This "negative" or blank space guides the eye to the important areas of your page. Remember, it certainly doesn't have to be the color white! Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!

Quote Challenge Crop
Monday, December 12th - 7:00PM MST
Come join Pat (PBarnes) for the Quote Challenge Crop at 7pm MT. Including a quote on your layout can be a touching and meaningful addition, especially if you use the quote to create your own word art. Here's how it will work. Early on Monday, Pat will post a thread on the Chat section of the board giving you the quote that you will use to make your own word art. It's not hard, and Pat will have a layout with a Word Art example in the gallery. Then we'll meet in the chat room to have fun, chat, and create our Word Art layout! Everyone can participate and create a layout, even if you can't make the chat. Hope to see you there!
December Message Board Game: BINGO!
Join us for an exciting game of BINGO on the Scrap Girls Forum during the month of December!! Pick 25 words from the list provided and send them in an email to [email protected] with a subject line that says "BINGO CARD - your Scrap Girls Message Board username" by Friday December 2 (Midnight MST) in order to play in the first round. The first round will begin on Saturday, December 3rd. If you miss the first round deadline, you can still play! Just send in your BINGO card at any time during the month, and you'll be eligible to begin playing when the next new round starts.
Each day (Monday through Saturday), a member of the Welcoming Committee will call five random words from the BINGO list. Match just 15 of those words to win a BINGO. You must be first to call "BINGO!" in the game thread to win that round. After a winner is called, the boards will be cleared and a new round will begin the following day.
Each winner will receive a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique! We like to see lots of winners, so please remember that each person can only win one round during the month. Have fun!

December Monthly Layout Contest: For the December Monthly Layout Contest, it's all about the gifts! Scrap a layout about a gift that was extra special, either one you gave or received. Or you can scrap about something or someone you consider to be a gift in your life. Share with us what makes that gift special! Post your layouts in the December Monthly Layout Gallery before Midnight MST on December 31st. Be sure to list your credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties. Two layouts will be selected to win a $10 Gift Card to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
