JIFFY Easy Page Albums - Creating More Layouts
No doubt you have seen the wonderful JIFFY Easy Page Albums in the Scrap Girls Boutique, and you may even have a few in your stash. The great thing about this product is that it makes putting together layouts and/or an album quick and easy. But what’s even better is that by moving the pieces around between the layouts, you can come up with a myriad of different layout designs!
I had a hard time choosing one of the albums to play with. I ended up using JIFFY Easy Page Album: 12x12 Our Family by Scrap Girls Designer Shalae Tippetts.
Once I started playing I didn’t want to stop. It really is amazing how many different combinations you can come up with. Shalae designed pieces that work so beautifully together!
To begin, I opened up four of the five layouts.
One of the first things I did was drag the background from one page to another. You might want to start with a new blank document and just start dragging your pieces over. As always, I made a duplicate copy of the original JIFFY Album page so that I could keep the original intact.
Next, I grabbed pieces from the different layouts and dragged them over to my new layout.
Then I added a photo and edited the text path - and voila! Done in less than 20 minutes! (Picking out which photo to use took the most time!)

Change the direction of the layouts’ pieces to instantly create even more options as you personalize these JIFFY albums.
On the next layout, I swapped out the background paper and horizontally rotated the photo matte and paper matte from another layout.
For the final layout, I just used pieces from two of the layouts to create a simple layout.
This was so much fun, and it has definitely inspired me to create more JIFFY Easy Page Albums! Let JIFFY Easy Page Albums make your digital scrapbooking projects creative, colorful, and quick!

Bullet-Point Journaling (One Technique You've Used)
Note: Tutorial created using Photoshop CS3 with a PC
Here are three reasons that bullet-point journaling has been a handy tool in my digital scrapbooking efforts:
Bullet-point and numbered lists are easy and fast ways to add journaling to your digital scrapbooking layouts. It is an especially useful technique in cases where there is not enough material to pull an entire cohesive paragraph about the topic.
Now that you know some good reasons to use bullet-point journaling, let’s discuss a way or two for you to make the “bullet” itself more interesting. There’s nothing wrong with a tiny circular, traditional bullet, but sometimes I want to up the ante a bit. Often I can find an embellishment that lends itself well to miniaturizing into a “bullet.” For the page below, I used the metal star from Laura Louie’s Boy Joy Collection Biggie. When miniaturized, it didn’t stand out enough from the background, so I used the Magic Wand Tool to select the empty interior of the star and created a new layer below the star.
With the “marching ants” still active, I switched to the Paint Bucket Tool and filled it with color. For this step, any color will do. Then I applied the yellow option from ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: This and That 10701 Biggie to the interior.
While these bullet-point stars aren’t the “stars” of the layout, they serve several purposes: To subtly and visually draw attention to the journaling and to reinforce the star theme of the layout.
Whatever your theme, let bullet-point journaling be a tool you reach for often!
