How much time of your life is spent in other people's heads?
How much time so you spend assigning motivations to other people's actions?
How much time is spent worrying about how other people are judging you?
How much time is spent judging what other people do?
How much time is spent wondering what other people think?
How much time of your life is spent in the past?
How often do you replay your life, seeking for better, alternate endings?
How often do you replay your life, keeping alive past hurts so that you can keep anger and unforgiveness alive?
How often do you replay your life, looking for roads untraveled that might have brought better results today?
How much time is spent in the future?
How much time is spent worrying about potential bad endings?
How much time is spent wishing that the moment you are in now was over?
How much time is spent wishing for more instead of being grateful for what you have now?
How much time is spent thinking about the vacation you will take, the car you will buy, the job you will get, or the parties you will attend?
Here is truth:
Only God can read our minds.
Only God knows why we do the things we do.
Only God has the right to judge us.
Only God knows what will happen in the future.
Even God cannot change the past.
We always have what we have now – no more, no less.
Our choices tomorrow will influenced by the choices we make today.
Each moment is a clean slate allowing us to choose something better than we chose before.
To spend time thinking of life as it was or as it might have been prevents you from enjoying the life you have now.
Muse: To be absorbed in one's thoughts; engage in meditation. Not intended to solve the world's problems, another person's problems, or to cover topics completely. One does not have to agree with musings to enjoy them, just as one does not have to be the same as someone else to appreciate who they are.
Would you like to earn a $20 Gift Certificate? Send your own muse to [email protected]. If it is selected for publication in the Scrap Girls newsletter, you'll get to have fun shopping!

Weddings
Note: Tutorial created using Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 with Windows Vista
Let's talk wedding layouts! Weddings are an important event in one's life. If you are lucky, you had an awesome photographer who photographed all the little details of your wedding and now you have tons of photos to inspire some terrific scrapbooking pages. However, if you aren't so lucky to have those photographs, you can still document the details of your wedding, and I highly encourage you to do so. Because your wedding was most likely a very special moment in your life, preserving those special memories will be a treasure to you in the years to come. Plus, just think, your children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews will enjoy reading about your wedding as they get to know you a little bit more.
Let's take a moment to think about your wedding in detail. Who planned it? Where was the wedding? Where was the reception? Who decorated? Who cleaned up? What last-minute scrambles did you have? Did you forget anything? What time of year were you married and what was the weather like? How did you choose your wedding date?
My husband and I were married at the end of August - and it was hot! My mother wanted the whole summer to get ready for the wedding, but we needed to get married before we headed back to school in the fall. August 31st was a Saturday, and that worked best for my father who was worried about our guests dealing with Friday traffic. Our reception was an hour away from our wedding ceremony location. We took lots of photos of the two us around the LDS Temple grounds where we married. After the photo shoot, we were starving and were very grateful to my mom for thinking to pack a quick snack before we had to head off to the reception. My photographer was able to snap a few pictures of us sharing our first meal as a married couple. Without these pictures, I'm sure I would have forgotten this special meal.

What other memories can you think of about your wedding? What did you choose as your wedding colors and why? Who came to your wedding? Why are these people special to you? What did you feed your guests? Who decorated your wedding cake? What was your "something borrowed, something blue?" The answers to these questions tell a story and share some details about your life. I hope that you can preserve these memories for yourself as well as your children.
Now, here are some ideas for those of you who are wedding photographers. First, remember this very important tip: Follow the bride around; you are her shadow! Take pictures of the detail of her dress, her shoes, nail polish, and the bouquet. Capture the look of the groom's face when he first lays eyes on the bride. Photograph the church, the garden, or wherever the wedding location may be. Take photos of small things such as napkins, place settings, flower arrangements, food, friendly faces of the guests, etc. It is all in the details! And don't forget the cake!
Like I said before, weddings are one of those special treasured moments in our lives. It is worth documenting those little details. You will love preserving them, and your grandchildren will treasure them forever.
