Scrap Girls Is Looking For Digital Scrapbooking Instructors!
Scrap Girls is looking for qualified digital scrapbooking teachers to teach Photoshop and Photoshop Elements classes. Teachers will be required to create class PDFs that will be reviewed prior to class. Teachers have complete flexibility in scheduling classes.
Candidates must have strong skills in Photoshop and/or Photoshop Elements and exhibit strong layout design skills. Knowledge of both programs is a plus. They must be warm and friendly, comfortably handle fast-paced chat room situations, and be able to easily answer questions that arise regarding their particular software area of expertise.
Candidates will be required to audition for this paid position. There will be a list of topics available from which classes can be developed; however, the teachers are encouraged to present their own ideas for approval as well.

Life's Treasures
I have discovered life is a journey, a treasure trove filled with wonder - enlightening pearls of wisdom, warm ruby moments, sparkling diamonds of joy.
The sad moments… like onyx, look black, but are valuable, and sometimes hold life-changing lessons.
The calm times… like sapphires and aquamarines remind us of the beauty of the seas and sky.
Then there is moonstone with its beautiful candescence reminiscent of the moon that lightens our dark nights filling them with magic. Magic is a wonderful word - it conjures up thoughts of wishes coming true and things appearing at just the right time.
My greatest discovery is… that's exactly what happens if you let it. We are our own worst enemies.

Tagging in iPhoto
Last year, I switched back to a Mac computer after years of using a PC. It was such an easy transition. Much to my delight, iPhoto came pre-installed on my computer, and I could tell right off that it's a scrapbooker's and photographer's dream.
When I received this assignment, I hadn't yet done any tagging of my supplies, so this article gave me the perfect excuse to get cracking!
Once you have opened iPhoto, I suggest that you create a new folder named Scrapbooking Supplies as a destination for uploading your files. This folder will always be available on the left-side menu when you open iPhoto.
Now you can just drag your folders right into the iPhoto window, and it will immediately begin uploading everything inside the folder.
Start by clicking on one of your files. Then on the iPhone menu at the top of your screen, go to View and scroll down to Keywords.
You will now see Add Keywords under each photo. Just click on it and start typing in your keywords or tags.
You can type in as many words as you want, then just hit Enter after each word. To edit a word, double-click on it; to delete, select the word and hit Delete.
Tagging several items at once is easy, too. Just click and drag over the items to select them. Then go up to your iPhoto menu and select Window, then scroll down to Show Keywords. This will allow you to name several items at once.
Now, you can choose from existing keywords or tags and create new ones within this pop-up window. Notice that I chose Paper and Vintage, and now each of my selected papers is tagged with those keywords. If you want to add a keyword or tag, just hit the Edit Keywords button on the bottom left.
I have much more to discover in this program, but just this one simple task has made my life so much more organized. I hope it does the same for you and that you will have as much fun using and playing with it as I did!

These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week. On June 1st, we'll do a color challenge! Create a layout on any theme, any topic, using the color PURPLE! Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!
May Message Board Game: Spotlight on the Boutique!
Each day during May (with the exceptions of Sundays), a member of the Welcoming Committee will post a layout in the official game thread. The layout will correspond with a product in the Scrap Girls Boutique and will be either the only layout or directly to the right of the product image on the product details page. A spotlight circle will show a portion of the layout you are to search for. If the layout is not identified by the following morning, a second spotlight circle will be added to the layout. This will be repeated until the product is identified.
To participate, search the Boutique for the layout and post a link to the product page in the official game thread. One guess per member per day. The winner will be drawn from all members who correctly identify a product throughout the month. The winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!

May Monthly Layout Contest: What's blooming in your yard, garden, or neighborhood right now? For those in the northern hemisphere, it would be spring flowers.
