Procrastination probably means...
That you really don't want to do it.
That you are afraid to do it.
That you perhaps are not supposed to do it.
That someone else wants you to do it and you are afraid to tell them no.
That you don’t want to start the good thing because then the good thing will soon be over and the bad thing will be back.
When procrastination waves its white flag at you, do you attempt to negotiate a cease-fire or do you burn the fort down?
Procrastination means something. Don't ignore it. It may be that you need to change your life so that you don't continue to procrastinate your way through it.
Muse: To be absorbed in one's thoughts; engage in meditation. Not intended to solve the world's problems, another person's problems, or to cover topics completely. One does not have to agree with musings to enjoy them, just as one does not have to be the same as someone else to appreciate who they are.
Would you like to earn a $20 Gift Certificate? Send your own muse to [email protected]. If it is selected for publication in the Scrap Girls newsletter, you'll get to have fun shopping!

Low Light Photography - Increase the ISO
Note: Tutorial created using Adobe Photoshop CS3
Are you happy with your photos taken in low light? Or do they constantly come back blurry and unrecognizable? Luckily in this age of digital photography, it is easier than ever to improve your low light photos. Let me show you one way today.
Increase your camera's sensitivity to light by increasing the ISO number. ISO stands for International Standards Organization and refers to the image sensor's sensitivity to light. The trickiest part is finding your camera manual (check online if you've lost yours) to find out how to change the ISO on your camera.
In many situations, you will want to increase the ISO to the highest setting your camera allows. One thing you do need to keep in mind is digital noise or grain. Noise is the digital equivalent of grain on high ISO film photos. Noise can look like grain, though more often it is tiny speckles or color artifacts. The higher the ISO you use, the more noise in your image, and vice versa. Let me show you a high grain example from our church's Christmas pageant:
This photo was taken with an ISO rating of 3200. I knew I needed a very high rating because I was sitting back in the audience and the people on stage were constantly moving. I don't mind the graininess because the tradeoff would have been blurry images. As you practice taking photos in low light situations, you'll come to know when you can "get away" with an ISO of 800 and when you may need to pull out the huge ISO of 3200.
Don't despair if you have a point-and-shoot camera with limited abilities to change settings! Simply choose the Sports Mode, and it will automatically increase the ISO for you.

Baby Album in Two Hours
Note: Tutorial created using Photoshop CS3 with Macintosh OS X
Baby albums are some of the most joyful albums to create – and for a variety of reasons, they never get finished. Today, I am going to show you how easy it is to make a 4x6 Baby Album in about two hours – that's right, two hours!
I recently became a grandmother. Ryder Pearson was born right after Christmas this last year. I know how busy new mothers can be, so to be able to make a digital scrapbooking album quickly and easily can be a blessing.
The best way to make sure an album takes the least amount of time is by limiting your digital scrapbooking supplies. It's best to use just one or two coordinating products, so everything will mix-and-match without much effort. I started with my Assemble Your Own Zoom Pages: 4x6 Watercolor Baby Boy and also my Watercolor Baby Boy Collection. All of the papers and embellishments provided in both kits match and coordinate with each other.
My album has just six pages, but yours could have a few more or less. Start with a first page with his/her name, a frame, and a couple of embellishments.
If your bundle of joy is a girl, look to my Assemble Your Own Zoom Pages: 4x6 Watercolor Girl and Watercolor Baby Girl Collection.
For the second page, add some pictures, an embellishment, and the birth date. You'll notice I am adding only a single word art embellishment. This keeps things simple.
The third page can have all the birth statistics, like the time of birth, weight, and length. Using collections with frames is an easy way to spotlight your photo with very little effort.
A cute photo placed in a frame with a few of the little baby clothes pinned to the line can be used for the fourth page. The Watercolor Baby Girl Collection has the same kind of embellishments.
Ryder has the best smiles and is so expressive. The plaid background gives a perfect three-square layout for cute close-ups for the fifth page.
And finally for the last page, I added a precious photo that captures a special moment.
I had such fun doing this album. Now I have my own Grandma Brag Book, and I did it so quickly! Have fun creating and mixing and matching different embellishments in endless combinations.

May Message Board Game: Spotlight on the Boutique!
Each day during May (with the exceptions of Sundays), a member of the Welcoming Committee will post a layout in the official game thread. The layout will correspond with a product in the Scrap Girls Boutique and will be either the only layout or directly to the right of the product image on the product details page. A spotlight circle will show a portion of the layout you are to search for. If the layout is not identified by the following morning, a second spotlight circle will be added to the layout. This will be repeated until the product is identified.
To participate, search the Boutique for the layout and post a link to the product page in the official game thread. One guess per member per day. The winner will be drawn from all members who correctly identify a product throughout the month. The winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
For complete details, visit the Monthly Message Board Games folder on the Scrap Girls Message Board.
