I've bolded my favorite part, which is the message that jumped out at me: Be brave enough to play the game of life, even though it may get tough sometimes. The only way to truly lose is not to play the game at all.

Quick and Easy frames with Frog Closures

Note: Tutorial created using Adobe Photoshop CS2 with Mac OS X.

Do you ever need to create a layout quickly? Tomorrow morning, my niece will be coming to our home. I have a darling photo of her and her cousin. I thought it would be fun to give her a layout including this picture, but I don't have much time to prepare it. I want the photo to be the focus of the page, so I have an idea and want to share it with you.

There are some beautiful frog closures in the Boutique that could be used to make a unique frame in a snap!

First, open a new document, then bring in your photo and a background paper that compliments your photo. In this example, a paper from the Gleeful Collection Biggie makes it look like you actually got out watercolors and hand painted a background paper. Don't you love that!

That was easy. Now, choose a frog closure from the Frog Closures - Pastels Embellishment Biggie. It won't be hard because there are several to choose from. There is a set in primary colors, pastels, or even ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Frog Closures. You can easily find a color that will coordinate with your photo. Place the first frog behind the top of the photo and add a drop shadow.

Now, duplicate that layer and rotate it 90 degrees. Repeat the process until you have a frog on each side of your photo forming a frame. I liked the look of having three of the frog closures on top of the photo. Choose which looks best with your photo.

Because the frogs are large and add beautiful texture and detail, the rest of the layout can be very simple. In the example below, the word cousin was repeated in two corners to anchor the photo and then a few little embellishments and the layout is complete.

June Message Board Game: Quotable Quotes

The object of the game is to correctly guess the layout (created by either a product designer or layout artist) that contains a quote or journaling. Each day, you will be given a word found in the clue. We will keep giving words to the clues until a correct guess is made.

Be the first to answer it correctly and win a $5.00 Gift Certificate to the Boutique! You are only allowed ONE guess per daily clue, and you are only allowed ONE win per month. When you make your guess, you must link it to the correct layout in the Boutique. We will play the game daily during the entire month of June. When a correct answer is given, the new puzzle will start the following day.

Layout Contests:

June Monthly Layout Contest: June is National Candy Month and who doesn't like candy!? For this month's layout contest, use the wrapper of your favorite candy for inspiration. Does your favorite candy have a great color combination, cool fonts or a fun striped pattern? Use whatever inspires you about it to create your layout. You don't have to include the candy's wrapper in your layout but you might mention it in your description. Create your layout and post it in the June Layout Contest Gallery by Midnight MT on June 30th. Be sure to list your credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties. If your layout is one of the two chosen, you will win a $10 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!

Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
