Girlfriends

I have just spent the most glorious week with my girlfriend. What is it about "the girls" that is so wonderful and satisfying?

We talk about all of the things that concern us... big or little. We feel free to solve the problems of the world and the family... listening, commenting, and advising each other with understanding that comes from another woman's point of view. Sometimes we create laughter amidst the tears. Sometimes we share the tears. Sometimes it's a remark or two that helps us regain the perspective that can get lost in a too-close-up view. Sometimes we don't understand but we know we are free to be different.

We play and laugh like children. My friend and I learned to kayak... sharing loud laughter when we, two mature women, could not get out of the kayaks. She made a big splash, and I was just stuck without enough strength to lift myself out. Later, we had ice cream for dinner and visited the playground after dark. How long has it been since we slid down a slide or hung from the monkey bars?

The memories are so precious. The healing medicine of the laughter and love we share is more valuable than gold. My friend... one of the precious jewels of my life.

I am new to scrapbooking. So I searched every site on the Internet for ideas and tips. Some were very exciting and had some flash. They all wanted an email address to send me their offers and insights. After a while, you know who delivers and has a real value for the time you spend on their email. Your emails rock, and I look forward to them. They are inspiring and informative, an excellent combination to have.

I dedicated my weekend to going through every video in this package. This whole kit was wonderfully put together. The videos were excellent; Ro made each technique easy to understand and worked at the perfect speed. I have watched videos from other sites and, whew, they go way too fast. No way could I absorb what they were saying, let alone try to actually repeat the technique; if I wanted to really learn it, I would listen to the video over and over, pause it, write down a little, restart it, pause it, write some more, restart... anyway, you get the idea. But with Scrap Girls' video tutorials, I just can't say enough about your videos and written instructions; they are just wonderful, and I will definitely be buying more. In addition to the kits and instructional videos being as good as they are, the Customer Service is out of this world. The response time is great, and you were so good to write back quickly when I was all confused about how to make the Date Brush work. You were so patient with me; thank you for everything and kudos to all of you at Scrap Girls.

We have recently moved from Idaho to China, so now my digital scrapbooking has become even more important to me. It's not just a hobby any more. It's my lifeline. March Message Board Game: Posting Contest!

It's that time again - Posting Contest time! This is where you are rewarded for your flying fingers and chattiness. The contest will run from March 1 when we post the thread to March 31 at 12:00 midnight (MST). We are doing things a little differently this time, so here are the rules:

1) To enter the Posting Challenge, reply in the game thread with your CURRENT post count. This is the number under your Avatar that shows when you post. Do not post the number found on your profile; it is a different number that is calculated differently.

2) During the month, chat your fingers off!

3) On March 31, BEFORE midnight (MST), go back to your original post in the game thread (the one with your starting post count) and take a screenshot of it. Send the screen shot to [email protected]. The screenshot is your contest entry! We will calculate your post count based on the numbers on the screenshot. (Directions for taking screenshots will be posted in the game thread.)

Prizes: The top poster gets a $20 Scrap Girls gift certificate. Everyone over 250 new posts will be entered in a random drawing for a $10 Scrap Girls gift certificate. Everyone over 100 new posts will be entered into a random drawing for a $5 Scrap Girls gift certificate.

Layout Contests:

March Monthly Layout Contest: Smile! The month of March includes Smile Day. Does seeing someone else's smile make you smile? For this month's contest, we want to see your layouts featuring a smile. Create your layout and post it in the March Layout Contest Gallery by Midnight MST on March 31st. Be sure to list your credits in the description or under the EXIF Properties. If your layout is one of the two chosen, you will win a $10 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!

Club Concepts Layout Contest: Post your new layout using the current club selection (either the Scrap Girls Club or the ScrapSimple Club) in our Scrap Girls Club Members Gallery or the ScrapSimple Club Members' Gallery. Be sure to list all of the Scrap Girls products you used. If your layout is chosen, it will be showcased as a Club Concepts layout winner, and you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!
