You didn't expect that you would go from living in the same house your entire life in Wyoming to moving 2,000 miles away to Washington DC, where you don't know a soul except your new husband...

Especially not when you were the little girl who cried when she spent the night at Grandma's house, five minutes away.

You didn't expect to look back seven years later and laugh about all you've been through and marvel at God's perfect hand in writing your love story...

But then you realize that life is often not at all what you expected.

1. What program do you use to digital scrapbook?

Photoshop Elements 7.0 and Photoshop CS3

2. Tell us the make and model of digital camera that you use.

Canon PowerShot SD790IS and Canon EOS 10D, but I love my Canon PowerShot best.

3. Name one thing that every beginning digital scrapbooker should know.

There is always more than one... don't be afraid to ask for help if you are a newbie; otherwise you will waste a lot of time trying to figure out things that may be relatively easy. Also, be patient and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

4. If you could be transformed into a digital scrapbooking embellishment, what would you choose and why?

There are so many, but I think the best that would describe me would be a ScrapSimple template... they are so versatile, can do SO many different things... change colors, patterns, themes. I have so many of the ScrapSimple templates. I love the albums, papers, photos, embellishments, and alphas. I love that I can do anything I want to create a certain theme, and I am not locked in to any one definite theme.

5. What time of day do you find that you do your best scrapbooking?

Mainly at night. I am a nightowl, but if it is quiet, sometimes when no one is home, I will try to do some daytime scrapping.

6. What is your favorite snack?

Really ripe white peaches! I love peach everything!

7. What brand of toothpaste do you use?

Colgate Total

8. What is your least favorite household chore?

Washing the eating utensils... forks, knives and spoons. I can do the rest of the dishes, but when there are a lot of them... yuck! And we don't use the dishwasher - haven't for 23 years. Washing the rest of the dishes is relaxing especially when everyone is asleep or not there. I look out my window and daydream!

9. Finish this sentence. "I couldn't live without..."

Michael, my husband... and the rest of my family, but definitely Michael. Life just would not be the same and truthfully, I don't know how I would go on without him. He is my rock and has stuck by me through all my "life adventures." He has always been supportive and forgiven me when I have done stupid, crazy things. He has been my best friend since high school. He is my soulmate.

September Message Board Game: BINGO!

It's that time again! Join us for an exciting game of BINGO on the Message Board in September! Pick 25 words from the list provided in the Monthly Message Board Game forum and send them in an e-mail to [email protected] with a subject line that says "BINGO CARD" and your message board user name by Wednesday, September 2nd (11:59pm MT) in order to play in the first round which will begin Thursday, September 3rd. Each day, members of the Welcoming Committee will call 5 random words from the BINGO list. Match just 15 of those words to win a BINGO. You must be first to call "Bingo!" in the game thread to win that round. After a winner is called, the boards can be cleared and a new round will begin the following day. All winners win a $5 gift certificate to the boutique! We like to see lots of winners, so please remember that each person can only win one round during the month. Have fun!

If you miss the first round cutoff date, you can still play! Just send in your Bingo card at any time during the month and you'll be eligible to begin playing when the next new round starts. Everyone who sends in a Bingo card will receive a confirmation email that their card has been received. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please re-send your list of words.

Layout Contests:

September Monthly Layout Contest: We're coming up on the date 09/09/09. For this layout contest, we want you to create a layout using repetition. It can be a photo that is repeated, an embellishment, a color... the possibilities are many. Create your layout and post it in the September Layout Contest Gallery by Midnight MT on September 30th. Be sure to list your credits in the description or under the details tab. If your layout is chosen, you will win a $10 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!

September Mid-Month Layout Contest: Everybody has some one or something in their life that has made a difference for them. For the September Mid-month Gallery contest, we want you to scrap a page about someone or something that has been a positive influence in your life. It could be a parent, a spouse, a teacher, an organization, or maybe a school or church. Create your layout and post it in the September Mid-Month Layout Contest Gallery by Midnight on October 15th. Be sure to list your credits in the description or under the details tab. If your layout is chosen, you will win a $10 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls Boutique!

Signature Contest: Season of Change

Summer is coming to a close with Fall just around the corner in the Northern hemisphere and weather is getting warmer in the Southern. Kids have gone back to school and before we know it, the holidays will be upon us. It's time to update those signatures. The guidelines for signatures and instructions for linking can be found here. Create your signature using mostly Scrap Girls products, following the guidelines, and upload to the Season of Change Signature gallery by 11:59 PM Mountain Time, September 30th to be eligible for the contest. Two winners will be randomly selected - one person will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls boutique and a runner-up will receive a $5 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls boutique! It's time to replace those crazy monkeys before they're gone for good!
