Filling The Tank
Sometimes, the well is dry, the glass is empty, the tank needs gas, and the pantry is bare. There are occasions when you need to go grocery shopping, eat supper, fill up the squirt bottle, and pour juice into the cup. There are days when we feel blank because we have used ourselves up, expended our energy, ran until our shoes fall off, or emptied the shampoo bottle.
When this happens, there is no other reasonable recourse than to stop what we are doing, take a breath and do something that fills our souls back up.

Using Torn Paper Frames and Fancy Folds
Tutorial created using Adobe Photoshop CS3 with Windows XP.
Here is a tutorial showing how I combine two ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates in one layout. I’ll show you how to combine the ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Torn Paper Frames - Ovals with the ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Fancy Folds 5.
First, open the oval torn paper frame you want to use. In this case, I am using TKA_SS_Emb_TrnPprFrm-Oval_Tmp2.psd.
Next, open the photo that you want to put in the frame.
Now, drag the photo to the TKA_SS_Emb_TrnPprFrm-Oval_Tmp2.psd window, while holding down the Shift key.
Apply a clipping mask between the photo and the TKA_SS_Emb_TrnPprFrm-Oval_Tmp2-1-CutOut layer.
Resize the photo to fit in the frame.
Open the ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Fancy Folds 5 PSD file to use in the layout. I am using TKA_SS_Emb_FancyFolds5_Tmp1.psd.
Select the entire Layers Palette of the photo and torn paper frame window and drag it to the fancy fold file, while holding down the Shift key.
Resize the entire selection of the photo and frame layers and position it on the layout.
I’m now ready to finish my layout. I chose three papers. One for the background, which I clip to the TKA_SS_Emb_FancyFolds5_Tmp1_1-Base layer, one for the main paper, which I clip to the TKA_SS_Emb_FancyFolds5_Tmp1_2-BGPaper, and one for the backside of the main paper, which I will duplicate and clip twice... once to the TKA_SS_Emb_FancyFolds5_Tmp1_4-Folds layer and once to the TKA_SS_Emb_TrnPprFrm-Ovals_Tmp1-3-Folds layer. I add embellishments, text and other elements to finish my layout.
Combining ScrapSimple templates can double or even triple your stash! Try it. It is easy and fun!

Remember, it certainly doesn't have to be the color white! You'll have one hour to create a layout and upload to the special High Noon Crop gallery. May Board Game: BINGO!
It's that time again! Join us for an exciting game of BINGO on the Message Board in May! Pick 25 words from the list provided in the games forum on the message board and send them in an e-mail to [email protected] with a subject line that says "BINGO CARD - your SG message board username" by Sunday, May 3rd (Midnight MT) to participate in the first round, starting Monday May 4th. Each day, members of the Welcoming Committee will call 5 random words from the Bingo list. Match just 15 of those words to win a BINGO. You must be first to call BINGO in the forum to win that round. After a winner is verified, the boards can be cleared and a new round will begin the following day. All winners receive a $5 gift certificate to the boutique! We like to see lots of winners, so please remember that each person can only win one round during the month. Have fun!
If you miss the first round cutoff date, you can still play! Just send in your Bingo card at any time during the month and you'll be eligible to begin playing when the next new round starts. Everyone who sends in a Bingo card will receive a confirmation email that their card has been received. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please re-send your list of words.

May Monthly Layout Contest: Mother's Day is in May in the U.S. so for this month's layout contest, we want to see your layouts paying tribute to a mom or a mother-figure in your life.
