Life Muses by Ro: She and He
She: I haven’t a thing to wear.
He: What’s wrong with what you have on?
She: This old thing?
He: You bought it last week.
She: No, dear. I’ve had it forever.
He: I haven’t seen you wear it before today.
She: (Sniff) You don’t pay any attention to me at all. I wear this dress every single day.
He: Are you sure? I could have sworn that you wear your other mesh dress every day. You know… the one that has the slits up the side? It doesn’t have sleeves.
She: This dress has slits up the sides. It doesn’t have sleeves.
He: But one of your arms is covered. I can’t see it at all.
She: I don’t own another dress.
He: You don’t? This is it?
She: Oh my… that little kid knocked you around a harder than I realized. Honey… Sweetie… My dress is just crooked now. The little girl didn’t set me down straight after her mother caught her carrying us around the store like dolls.
He: There was a little girl? And she was carrying us around?
She: Yes. She took your pants. She said they would be perfect for her Ken doll.
He: Ack! How could she do such a thing? Why didn’t someone stop her? She should be arrested for manhandling me. I am positively traumatized.
She: Sigh… I guess this would be a bad time to mention that you don’t have any arms… or legs… or
He: Hey! Neither do you.
She: That’s why we are perfect for each other, dear.
He: I knew I loved you. But really, darling… you need to do something about that dress. It’s quite old. Why don’t you buy yourself a new one?
She: Thanks. I’ll do that.

Tutorial: How to Adjust the Hue/Saturation of a Photo
Note: Tutorial Created Using Photoshop CS3 on a Mac.
There are many times when you end up with a great picture, except for one small adjustment. One of the greatest things about digital scrapbooking is that you can also digitally alter your photos when needed. For this tutorial, I am going to use Hue/Saturation to adjust two different photos to match each other better so that I can use them in the same layout.
Open the photos that you want to work with. I like to resave the photo with a new name so that I know it is the one I have adjusted.
This photo has too much red in it and I want to tone that down a bit for my layout.
This is the second photo that I want to adjust. This photo has the opposite problem, it is very gray and I want to make it more vibrant.
Select Hue/Saturation from the Layers palette. This will make the Hue/Saturation adjustment fall on a separate layer.
On this photo, I set the Saturation to -15. This tames the red, but still keeps the rosy color to the baby’s cheeks and red hair.
Now, select the Hue/Saturation from the Layers palette again for the second photo.
On this image, I set the Saturation to +12 to brighten up the gray tone on the baby’s face.
The wonderful thing about having the Hue/Saturation on a separate layer is that any changes you make can be changed. You can always toss the Hue/Saturation layer if you change your mind or you can make further adjustments if needed.
And, there you have it, two pictures that are now better matched for the perfect layout!

April Board Game: Who Am I?
In honor of the month that starts the silliest
way possible... it's time to get our silliness on! This month
we'll be getting to know some silly and little known facts
about our Scrap Girls Team Members as we play a rousing game
of "Who Am I?" Every day, a member of the Welcoming
Committee will post a fact about one of the ScrapGirls Team
Members and ask, "Who Am I?" A new fact will be added
daily until someone correctly guesses which team member is
being described. Once a team member is correctly guessed, a
new team member will be featured starting the following day.
Team Members include anyone featured on
the "About
Us" page of the ScrapGirls website including Product
Design Team, Layout Artist Team, Welcoming Committee, etc.
Answers to the “Who Am I?” puzzles can be found
anywhere on the ScrapGirls site... including Gallery Layouts,
team member bios, Boutique Layouts, etc.
If you are the first to guess one of the
team members correctly you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to
the Scrap Girls Boutique! Remember you may only win ONCE during
