Digital Scrapbook Layout Artist
Sue was raised by loving parents who enjoyed taking lots of pictures of their three girls. She caught the photo bug when she was young and remembers asking her parents to stop so she could take pictures on annual family vacations to various places around the US. Her family has learned to put up with her zest for photography and her search for the perfect family photo.
With a treasure trove of photos ranging from her grandparents’ time, her childhood, her boys’ younger years, and on up to the present, Sue yearned to save all those memories through scrapbooking. She tried paper scrapbooking first, but didn’t like the mess of all the supplies needed, the inability to make changes on a completed page, and the reality of making only one copy of a project at a time.
When Sue stumbled upon a digital scrapbooking website in 2008, she was intrigued by the idea. After first dipping her toe in this new hobby, she quickly dove right in. She enjoys making pages that please the eye while conveying meaning through both pictures and journaling.
Sue married her college sweetheart in 1981, and together they have three wonderful sons and one special daughter-in-law. Sue’s training is in middle school/high school math and science education, and she taught while her husband was in seminary. She took time off to raise her three sons while her husband served as a pastor, and later as they both served as missionaries in Japan. When her family returned to the US, she taught and tutored in math and science. She enjoys reading, music, and, naturally, scrapbooking.
Sue is humbled and honored to be on the Scrap Girls Layout Artist Team. She hopes her work will encourage and inspire others to creatively preserve their special memories through digital scrapbooking.
