Sheri grew up with an attitude that “life exists to provide material for art.” As a child, her desire to be unique helped her win first place in nearly every coloring contest she entered by coming up with captivating solutions that stopped the judges in their tracks. Her work was often featured at local art galleries and submitted into contests by her teachers. As a third-generation artist, Sheri was encouraged to pursue a career with her talents.
After high school, she moved to Seattle to enroll in the graphic arts program at the Art Institute of Seattle. Her style was enriched with the type of jobs that will one day make her children say, “my mom was so cool,” like working on and painting cars and choppers, being a part of a pit crew for a drag racing operation, modeling for vintage-style car and fashion magazines, volunteering at the USO, acting in music videos, being a Peace Corps Volunteer, and designing custom monuments. She seasoned her resume with freelance experience, designing everything from ads for clothing boutiques to posters for famous bands.
It was as if a light turned on the day she discovered digital scrapbooking. She had always been intrigued by paper scrapping but found it too expensive. Digital scrapbooking combined her thrifty nature with her love of computer image manipulation. She applied to be a Scrap Girl Digital Scrapbook Product Designer and her dream became a reality. Sheri is thrilled to be a part of the team and honored to be able to contribute her vision to the digital scrapbooking world.
