Kerry is a graphic designer with a special interest in vintage design. She has been collecting ephemera and antique books for many years which she uses in her designs for Scrap Girls.
Kerry's creativity has been expressed in a variety of jobs. After earning her degree in English/Journalism, she taught high school for six years, also advising the school newspaper. Then, she wrote and edited employee publications at a Fortune 500 company for ten years, art-directing photography and graphic design, supporting management in their communication plans and activities, ghost writing for top executives, and assisting in media relations, event planning and ad campaigns. During this stint in corporate communications, she earned several awards from The International Association of Business Communicators for excellence in writing, editing, and publication design.
After having her second child, she began life as a work-from-home mom. Self-taught in PhotoShop and Illustrator, she works as a graphic designer, primarily for Scrap Girls. She appreciates Scrap Girls' high standards for digital design, excellent customer service, and warm and friendly online community.
She loves to combine her digital designs with the decorative arts, and her fabric and paper collages have been published several times in Somerset Studio, Somerset Holidays & Celebrations, and Sew Somerset. Kerry loves to garden, take photographs, visit restaurants from a variety of cultures, go for walks, do weight workouts, read, pray, laugh, and spend time with friends. And, she thoroughly enjoys time spent with her teenage children.
