Julie holds a degree in graphic design and adores paper goods as well as typography. She began her career doing in-house design for a theater and then moved on to Fortune 500 companies. She left corporate life to pursue freelance design opportunities and raise a family. Her design portfolio includes work for Broadway shows, Compaq/Hewlett Packard, Toyota, and Hallmark. Over her career, Julie has designed annual reports, brochures, ads, retail displays, direct mail, sales campaigns, event graphics, websites, and loyalty marketing materials.
Julie has been scrapbooking and creating art since she was a little girl. Her drawing talents earned her scholarship money for college. Her love of digital scrapbooking developed shortly after the birth of her first child. She needed a better way to keep family up-to-date and scrap first year memories. Using the computer to create pages was a natural extension of her design work and she never looked back. Finding inspiration everywhere, Julie loves being able to push the Adobe Creative Suite in new ways, learning more digital techniques, keeping her design skills fresh, and most importantly, preserving her memories.
She currently is a freelance graphic designer, wife, and SAHM to two small children. Julie is very excited about designing for Scrap Girls. She likes creating designs that have meaning for others and are beautiful at the same time. When not designing, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, photography, working out, and other creative endeavors.
